"cautiously optimistic" about Nov 2 |
|
it's still way too early to sound the trumpets of defeat for Bush. For those who underestimate this group, beware, 'cause they are ruthless and will do anything to win. Clinton said it best on the "Daily Show" when he was on not too long ago--"the republicans LOVE power and they know how to get it."
Desperation makes for funny bed fellows.
I'm not getting excited about any polls until the final one is in on Novemeber 3.

I have never understood the appeal the Bush has on the American people. To me this should be a frigging blowout-every state except Texas, Alabama and Mississippi. I know most people are not as hyper political as we are but how unaware can you get?
The next debates will be cricial for Kerry because do seem to be ready to listen. We shall see...

1993 when Bush ran against Ann Richards and then 2000. There were more who voted for Gore from Texas than Oklahoma, however, those fundies are the ones who pull it for him everytime:eyes:

4. These are not trumpets of defeat I hear, but bugles to charge.... |
|
....and expose every crooked think that Bush, the Bush White House staff and advisers (that's Condi and Rove specifically) and the right wing neo-cons of the republican party have done in the last decade to over-turn the Constitution and the U.S. government. Lets bear down hard on these bastards fro the next 29 days and then with victory, bury them!

as if President Kerry is behind by 5 points. I won't relax until Chimp gives his concession speech.

7. I'm not as concerned with 11/2 as I am with 11/3... |
|
When (not if) Kerry wins on 11/2, you can be assured that the Repugs will launch legal challenges on every close race in every district in the US. While that happens, the corporate media will run the "Democrats cheated" and "sore-loserman" talking points on a loop.
I hope our party has an effective mechanism in place to counter the shitstorm starting on 11/3...:scared:

This Administration has probably even had a negative impact on the idea of confidence. I think they give the impression that confidence is resting on your laurels, (real or, mostly imagined) and sitting there repeating them.
Confidence has several meanings, but you don't usually do much or take many risks without one form of it or another. When you look at as a state of confident hopefulness that events will be favorable, then that is precisely what you may need to forge ahead and go, with gusto, for the goal. It is what takes you through the longest yard.
For activists and those who talk to others, sincere confidence is what projects the point best. That is, in contrast to smug, over-confidence.. If the fear of being wrong in the end transcends your overall estimation of the true potential, it clouds your efforts.
