Rice Defends Comments on Iraq Nuke Threat
Edited on Mon Oct-04-04 01:59 PM by Jon8503
These people amaze me even when they know they have made a bold face
lie, how they can continue to attempt to defend themselves:

In the run-up to the March 2003 war, Rice said in a television interview in 2002 that the Iraqi president was trying to obtain high-strength aluminum tubes to rebuild his nuclear weapons program. The tubes, she said, were "only really suited for nuclear weapons programs."

On Sunday, Rice acknowledged she was aware of a debate within the U.S. intelligence community about whether the tubes were intended for nuclear weapons. "I knew that there was a dispute. I actually didn't really know the nature of the dispute," Rice told ABC's "This Week."

2. Knowing the nature of the dispute...
...must have been someone else's job. I'm still trying to figure out who that is.

5. It was based on old intelligence. The threat was vague.

8. "Ummm, I think it was a 'historical' debate...
...nothing that was 'actionable', so I did nothing"

4. And what was the title of that memo ?
"I believe it was Bin Laden Determined to Strike Within the United States".

National Security Adviser. Ha !

I wouldn't expect anything less (or more) from Condi Rice regarding the intel on aluminum tubes. Like the rest of the people on the upper tier of the Bush Administration, she is conveniently uninformed.

In fact they all are conveniently uninformed. I wouldn't expect anything less(or more) from ex-CEO's.

9. If we could submit Condi, Colin, and A$$craft to truth serim, we would get
something more revealing the Paul O'Neill's book...which wasn't pretty.
