Kerry thrives in town-hall event (News Report from Youngstown)
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04278/390123.stm

Confident and talkative, Democratic presidential candidate John F. Kerry fielded questions on domestic policy during a town hall-style meeting with about 1,000 people in this town on the outskirts of Youngstown yesterday, pledging to revamp the nation's health care insurance system and to make college more affordable.

For more than an hour, Kerry wandered the aisles of the local high school gym like a television talk show host, transforming queries into campaign pronouncements.

It was the type of event the candidate said he wishes he could have more often, and one that served as a rehearsal for the town-hall style debate in which he and President Bush will participate on Friday.

<snip>

"What we need more than anything in America is a national conversation," he said yesterday, "not these attack ads" on blanketing television broadcasts across battleground states.

1. great way to prep
good to see how energized Kerry, once he's on a roll, there is nothing that can stop him.

what about Bush, is he still fielding softballs from his barstool?

4. Yes, he is. He has another "Ask the President" little photo op of pre-
screened questions from loyalty oath signing republicans. Tough crowd.

2. I truly believe Kerry will win BIG in Ohio
Republicans have had 50 years, and not a whole lot to show for it.

3. Getting in the practice with the people. All of the people.
Kerry is doing the right thing. Too bad W has been weeding his audiences and making them into lovefests. Oh well, his loss. AGAIN !
