Hello, America! It is NOT okay to have an incompetent president!
Shouldn’t a president inspire confidence?

On September 30 2004, John Kerry and George Bush took the stage to debate foreign policy and national security. Democrats and Republicans waited in the wings to spin the debate in their candidate’s favor.

But something extraordinary happened in those 90 minutes: Americans got an unplanned, unedited look at the candidates.

We saw our president dazed, annoyed, confused, angry, detached.

For four years, George Bush has been portrayed as a strong leader. Yet he’s held fewer press conferences than any modern president; he refused to testify before the 9/11 Commission without Dick Cheney by his side. Even his campaign rallies are tightly controlled, usually with invited attendees required to sign a “loyalty oath.” On September 30, we saw why the Republican’s never wanted us to see the real George Bush.

This is our president, without a script, without a teleprompter, without a clue.
We think it’s fair to evaluate the president on the criteria he established: that America needs a strong leader in a troubled time.

Can we afford a president who lacks certainty and credibility?

John Kerry has demonstrated he has the courage, compassion and credibility to lead this country during a difficult time. We trust John Kerry to take the job seriously.

1. I'm convinced that there are people who will vote for him again..

and who will not admit that he is clueless, because in a way, they think it makes them appear to be stupid for voting for him in 2000.

I've had that response in other (primarily non-political) forums where the election comes up, and sooner or later, someone will start saying 'don't call ME stupid', even if posters have only called * stupid. Some wort of weird psychology.

2. I still believe, based on instinct and anecdotal stories and posts that
some people are uneasy following Thursday night. Not the hard-core repubs, but a segment of people that are concerned enough about security for themselves and their families. I believe some can be persuaded. Maybe I'm delusional, but I think it's a tactic worth pursuing.

BigPath:

Is there anyway to print out your wonderful posters and plaster them all across America.

Really, your posters are the most effective campaign device I've seen all campaign season!!

4. Weird psychology? I think the technical term is 'cognitive dissonance'
Whereby someone who has made a bad choice\purchase\decision finds ways to rationalize their bad choice as actually being a 'good choice'. Once again, I can't find links at a moment's notice, but I remember this from college psychology class.

Any DU'ers out there able to flesh this out?
