Oh, the joys of power brakes!

I worked today (in retail we never work the same schedule two weeks in a row) and when I left work, I decided to take "the long route" home. It's not much longer, but it's through a quietish residential area.

I'm sitting at the stoplight waiting to turn onto the main road when two 25-year-old idiots in a Camaro pulled up beside me--then start yelling this shit about how Kerry is a traitor and I'm a traitor for supporting this traitor, why don't I get the fuck out of their country and go to France with all the other traitors. You know, standard bullshit like we've all heard.

The light turned green and I start turning. They start yelling this shit about me being a commie and then they did something real weird...they cut about halfway into the next lane and sped up. I nailed my brakes as these two asshats roared right in front of my car, hit the curb, popped up a bit, ran up this little embankment and slammed headfirst into a vinyl privacy fence. It didn't damage the car at all but these fools are out $120 for two panels and a post.

There were two cops at that intersection who saw the whole thing. They immediately put on their blue lights and I stuck my hand out the window, waved and pointed at this little driveway. I kinda inched my way around the Camaro and pulled into the driveway. The cops pulled up behind the Camaro, which as you probably have guessed was covered in Bush crap.

I got out of my car and walked over to the scene. Turns out I knew both of the cops because they buy wood from me.

"What happened?" one asked.
'These guys pulled up beside me and started screaming all this stuff about Kerry being a traitor and me too. Then they apparently decided to take me out...and missed.'
"They saw your Kerry sticker, huh?" (This cop wears his Kerry t-shirt to shop for lumber.)
'Yeah. You need me to make a statement or anything?'
"Naah, we saw what happened, we're gonna write it as attempted homicide. The DA will let them plea-bargain it down to attempted assault with a deadly weapon and destruction of private property, they'll get two years and out in six months. If we need you for anything we know how to get hold of you, but you're free to go. Have a nice night. Oh, and what's OSB running these days? I need some of that."

I'm okay, but I really don't want my taxes going to feed scumbag freepers.
