Christian Coalition offering Voter Guides to Churches |
|
I got the strangest wrong number on my answering machine today. It was supposed to be for a certain Baptist Church in my area, but my greeting has no personal info, so they left a message anyway.
Apparently I'm supposed to call the Christian Coalition and tell them how many Voter Guide pamphlets I want, and where they should be delivered.
I know they're no dummies, and they have probably crafted these to skirt any laws, but I don't want to erase the message just yet. I'm planning to call the county elections commissioner. Any other suggestions as to what I should do?

:) But I hesitate to post it here. I disagree with what they're doing, but if it's legal, I'd rather not be a party to flooding their number. It's just the Christian Coalition's phone number, which anybody can look up (I think).

5. I guess that was my larger question. |

I've seen other voters guides from advocacy groups that had a mix of Dems and Repubs (but mostly Dems). Is that how they get around the tax laws? Make it look non-partisan?
The CC Voters Guides you saw--were they entirely Republican, or did they have a token Democrat (i.e., Dogcatcher)?
