GOP cries foul on IL/WI drug importation--Kerry needs to pounce!
Folks this is not a partisan issue, however the GOP knows that it hurts Bush and they are starting to attack Blagojevich and Doyle (this can be very costly in Wisconsin). Kerry and the press need to back Bush into a corner on this. He does not want to deal with this until after the election but he needs to say what he plans to do now!

State starts drug import plan

Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Monday officially launched his program to help Illinois residents buy cheaper drugs from abroad, prompting Republican criticism that he orchestrated the event to highlight the populist issue for the benefit of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.

Republicans have charged that Blagojevich and U.S. Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), who was also at Monday's announcement, have seized on the drug importation issue as an election-year gimmick to embarrass Bush.

Meanwhile, state Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale), Republican chairman of DuPage County, agreed, saying Doyle is trying to deliver Wisconsin for John Kerry. A recent Tribune/WGN-TV poll showed the Democrat maintaining a comfortable lead in Illinois.

"Given Gov. Blagojevich's track record of gearing everything to politics or polling, it would seem the joint announcement with a Democrat governor of a state critical to the presidential race is absolutely political," said Dillard, who supports the program's goal but believes the governor is overstepping his legal boundaries. Added Jason Gerwig, communications director of the state GOP, "The governor's program is nothing more than a smoke-and-mirrors public relations stunt."

1. Stunt - Like Iowa Bill Signing Ceremony and the Endless Fla Ice Shows?

"The governor's program is nothing more than a smoke-and-mirrors public relations stunt."

Emm- eh - what about yesterday in Iowa - Bush had the bill signing ceremony there surrounded by babies. What about Bush seeking pictures of him giving ice to Fla hurricane victims?
