Who came up with this advert?! http://www.johnkerry.com/video/console.php?video=100404_stem_cellOther than the fact that Kerry comes across quite well in it, the whole thing seems totally misconceived and a waste of funds at a crucial time in the campaign.

2. Highlights Bush's allegiance to right wing fanatacism.... |
|
In his last campaign, Bush tried to make himself look moderate via both his convention and his words. This year's GOP convention attempted the same lie. This issue shows that he is both the standard bearer of, and a slave to, the ultra right wing, and that he is sacrificing the greater good of society as a whole to gain the support of the nutty right wing. The public overall sees this issue very clearly as one of allowing science to improve humans' lot in life. They also realize that most of the embryos will be destroyed, and figure, like most sane people, why waste them if they are going to be destroyed anyway? Bush looks ignorant due to his policy on stem cell research, and it exposes the lie that he is somewhat moderate. This is almost a black and white issue, and Bush loses on many levels. I say keep it up!

I've watched a number of relatives die of these agonizing diseases. To think that the idiot Bush would put any roadblocks in the path of stem cell research because he, a scientific illiterate, thinks its immoral, is immoral in itself.

But the whole thing seems a bit tacky. The music's bad, the "gee whizz science" graphics are bad, and the issue itself is divisive enough to make me think that it's not going to help much.
Hey, if the undecideds like it, I'm all for it! I'm just not sure they will.
