Rumsfeld flippity-flop, WTF???
http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/reuters20041005_45.html

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Tuesday he was misunderstood when he stated hours earlier that he knew of no "strong, hard evidence" linking Saddam Hussein's Iraq and al Qaeda.

Watch out, here comes the spin...

Somebody must have gotten their hand slapped!!

3. note the semantics
His second statement only reports what he has said, not what his knowledge is.

2. But didn't the CIA release a report yesterday
that shows no collaborative relationship between Saddam and al Qaeda?

So that, then, would make the 9-11 Commission, the Senate Intelligence Committee AND the CIA, no?

I think the Republicans' last hope is to hold onto the idea that Saddam was somehow connected to 9-11. Cheney's been out "blurring" the facts, since John Kerry got to tell 60 million people, in the debate, that Saddam wasn't connected to 9-11. I'm SURE that Rummy got a lickin' from Cheney's forked tongue, after the remark. And Richard Perle probably stabbed his pitchfork into him a few times.

I hope JE goes for the jugular on this shit tonight.
