freeper friend reaches out (i guess) via this Lame emaiL
Regardless of your political persuasion, WOULDN'T IT
BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR GEORGE
W. BUSH OR JOHN KERRY GIVE THE FOLLOWING
SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has
been completed. Since congress does not want to
spend any more money on this war, our mission in
Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal
of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be
complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the
reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the
names of countries which have stood by our side
during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United
Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are
some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list.
Most of the worlds nations are on that list. My press
secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later
this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately,
foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases
immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during
the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs
of the Iraqi war.

The American people are no longer going to pour
money into third world Hell-holes and watch those
government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic?
Call France. In the future, together with Congress, I
will work to redirect this money toward solving the
vexing social problems we still have at home
. On that
note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us
and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all
your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a
gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe
China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work
out a peace deal NOW. Just note that Camp David is
closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for
negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big
tables, too. I am ordering the immediate severing of
diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and
Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are
retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis. I
have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin
towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in
Manhattan with more than two unpaid
parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be
stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about
whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens
of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets
tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers,
and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop
shops in the world. I love New York.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2.
Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each
other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off
for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox
and his entire corrupt government really need an
attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank
and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I
am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start
doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the
United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty ---
starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. It is time for
America to focus on its own welfare and its own
citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer
them be saying, "darn tootin."

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent
life around the world has only earned us the undying
enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time
to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate
homelessness in America. It is also time to eliminate
World Cup Soccer from America.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys.
We owe you and we won't forget. To the nations on
List 2, a final thought. Drop dead.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

i just sent a quick repLy - "weLL bush did pLan a "major speech" for tomorrow to rebut kerry's points from the debate - since he didn't have enough time then. maybe he'LL incLude this in his speech."

this is aLso from a friend who doesn't want to EVER discuss poLitics with me... except to caLL me a sociaList or caLL kerry a rich asshoLe.

They just have better sense than we do, and were given ZERO incentive to come aboard. No reconstruction contracts, no nothing.

8. The biggest load of BS in this? The bit about fixing things at home
Its crap. The only domestic issues that concern Bush and the reich wing are the "problems" of the richest Americans and corporations.

If they were actually interested in passing meaningful legislation that would help Americans in the US, they could. Easily. They have a majority, they control every part of the government, and, hell, its not like they are concerned about deficit spending.

The reason Republicans don't make things better for people here is because they don't give a shit. And they never will.

here, Let me forward you this emaiL and hopefuLLy we can agree on something. he used to send out the freeper chain maiLs, and whenever i couLd (as weLL as 1 or 2 of our friends) wouLd bLast the emaiL to bits for being faLse, petty, and so forth. he eventuaLLy just said, "Look, i'm not here to taLk poLitics so Leave me aLone" - which makes no sense since he initiated every convo by forwarding these emaiLs to me/us. so now we don't do poLitics (we just drink, smoke, watch sports, and pLay cards) - yet the Lack of poLitics doesn't stop the sociaList remarks. /:)

i don't get the "sociaList" jabs either, as i've never espoused those ideoLogies. (i know, it's a faLse anaLogy that the right Loves to make)

10. No, it wouldn't be great
It would be appalling. Your friend (and I use the term loosely) thinks our foreign aid contributions should be based on whether or not a country wanted to join us in an endeavor that was wrong?

He/she thinks spite is a good reason to condemn poor people the world over (who had no say in their government's decision whether or not to support Bush) to illness, poverty and disease?

<Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent
life around the world has only earned us the undying
enmity of just about everyone on the planet.>

No, stupid. What did that was the last four years and a guy who thinks the rest of the world doesn't matter unless they blindly follow him.

Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 09:26 AM by Kanzeon
What that numb-nuts should be worrying about is our creditors, not our foreign aid recipients.

He still thinks that for some reason we give out more foreign aid than we receive in the form of borrowing.

No clue.

14. Great idea!
Now let China and Japan take a similar strategy and demand the return of the money they've lent us. Now watch the dollar plummet, and the Euro take over as the world currency of choice. Soon, we'll be wishing France and Germany would lend us some money.

If we just up in stopped aid to these countries, guess what they would also pull any money they have invested in Our America. We would be hurt just as much. This is not about the Big Bad Ass America any more. This is about the World. Just look at how much land & companies Japan owns here. What about Saudi Arabia? etc.....

19. What the 'brilliant' writer forgot, is that List 2 could bring the US
down, without firing a shot, faster than the collapse of the USSR. China got cease to finance our debt, list 2 countries could cut off the flow of oil, and Wal-mart would have nothing to stock their shelves. Would not be a smart move for a debtor nation with a lop-sided trade deficit to do.

25. patheticially uninformed Americans..take back the media!!!!!!!
It's pathetic how uninformed Americans are about their own government, let alone other countries.

How much aid does the United States give?
Less than 1 percent of the U.S. budget goes to foreign aid. President Bush’s 2003 budget proposes about $11.4 billion in economic assistance and about $4.3 billion for peacekeeping operations and to finance, train, and educate foreign armed forces.

How do U.S. aid levels compare with those of other countries?
The U.S. foreign-aid budget as a percentage of gross national product (GNP) ranks last among the world’s wealthiest countries (at about 0.1 percent).

Do Americans understand how much of the U.S. budget goes to foreign aid?
No. A 2001 poll sponsored by the University of Maryland showed that most Americans think the United States spends about 24 percent of its annual budget on foreign aid—more than 24 times the actual figure.
