each of tonight's debaters have pros and cons
Edwards is far more telegenic, and he is used to connecting with everyday folks. He is undaunted, sharp and smart.

BUT this is his very first one-on-one debate. That's not so great. There's no jury present to connect with and get feedback from ... that's something he's used to having.

Cheney is ugly as sin, monotone, boring, and doesn't really care about connecting with anyone else.

BUT he is an old-hand at politics and debate. He also on the ropes, a state which can make anyone put in a stellar performance.

Frankly, I'm not sure how this will go. I'm sure they have both preped very thoroughly, Dick's not lazy like Vacation Boy George is.

Again - what pressure! They both have the hopes of so many on their shoulders. They both NEED to win. This should be very interesting.

i had faith in kerry (from years of watching him here) that he wouLd cLock shrub in the debate. my faith in kerry is transposed to edwards - kerry chose him for a reason; he's not going to faLter.

cheney's ace? "triaL Lawyer" and "soft on terror".

i'm confident that edwards won't roLL over, but instead, throw it right back in his fat, fucking face.

2. Anyone know how many debates Cheney has had in his entire
lifetime? Edwards' career as a trial lawyer sets him up with an advantage over Cheney. He has 20 years of experience in presenting facts and rebutting statements.

No problem, imo. Also, the physical image of the bright, sunny Edwards smile and Cheney's attempt to look human will be startling.
