1. And remind folks who was supposed to be in charge on 9/11...
One would think they would be embarrassed to bring up the subject of 9/11 after such blatant incompetence...

10. You have to have human emotions and care about
others besides yourself in order to be embarrassed about your blatant incompetence.

2. If Edwards does 3 things we will have another in the WIN column
If Edwards does 3 things we will have another in the WIN column, and have the media stating "The election is not won at the debate, it is won at the polls."

1) Discuss the secret energy meetings. Edwards needs to remind people how the Energy companies, that Cheney is a part of, screwed us (specially in California)

2) Discuss Cheney's role in Haliburton. Cheney won't admit any connection, but Edwards needs to roll out facts about Cheney's salary in a trust fund and Haliburton's profits this year.

3) But first, (I agree with you) Edwards needs to call Cheney's bluff that another terrorist attack will happen if Cheney looses his office AND his continued assertion that 9/11 and Saddam were intimate.

3. And, Edwards should also challenge the
general secrecy of the Bush Cartel, mention the "undisclosed location", etc. citing that the people have the right to know what is going on...

22. Also point out what Cheney did as Sec. of Defense under Bush Sr.
Cheney wanted to cut a lot of defense programs. They need to slam home the flip-flopping issue with Cheney.

4. He should use humor...
Make a joke about how he was almost late because his car ran out of gasoline on the way over because the lines were so long because of the cheap price, he didn't have time to wait in line.

15. Will be he wearing a dress when he says this?
Because, frankly, I think it makes the Democratic ticket look weak and defensive, kind of like a crying child running to the teacher after the schoolyard bully has been picking on them.

Instead of playing into the same old whiny bleeding heart liberal stereotypes, Edwards ought to counterpunch. He ought to argue that the current administration has failed to keep America safe. He ought to point out how the administration failed the destroy Al Quaeda when it had the change.

Seriously, DU'ers need to get over their obsession with fairness and civility. This is hardball politics, not a tea party. We all knew going in that the Bush people would do this. But the best way to deal with a bully isn't to cry foul. The best way is to punch them in the nose. And when you see the tears welling up in their eyes, you punch them again.

..."It's hard being president"
..."It's Clinton's fault"...

there are a lot of tough bleedingheart liberals, we have compassion for others and many of us are willing to fight to the death.

19. Edwards should demand that Cheney provide all documentation
Cheney has stated that he bought an insurance policy costing $15,000 to cover his deferred compensation from Halliburton in the event the company could not meet its obligations to him. By having purchased this insurance policy, he claims that he no longer has an incentive to make sure that Halliburton performs successfully. He also stated that as far as the stock options from Halliburton are concerned, he has designated three charities to receive any after-tax proceeds from these stock options. The American public has a right to see all of this documentation, to know the exact terms of this insurance policy and also to know the names of the charities involved and what amounts of money they have received, if any. The major problem with Cheney has been his extreme secrecy and his demand that the American people just take his word for whatever he says.
