There's no way the media will declare Edwards the winner tonight

It took an incoherent meltdown by Bush to make them declare Kerry the winner in the first debate. Cheney will not even come close to that. He'll stand his ground, insult Edwards, and get the kudos for 'standing up' to that trial lawyer.

(I mean c'mon: The guy didn't get any significant media heat for telling Leahy to fuck off to his face.)

The spin will be that Cheney saved the momentum, no matter what actually happens.

The good news...the Bush slide will resume after more of his incoherence and waffling in the 2nd and 3rd presidential debates. :thumbsup:

2. I think we have a hope

Cheney has been telling a lot of shameless crap like "Vote for us, or get attacked", "go fuck yourself" etc.
It's not very smart or political. He might have some perverse beliefs he is proud of.

Expect something along the lines of:

"Well, Cheney won tonight because he not only showed the same determination & steadfastness of Bush, he showed America that he wasn't the demon his opponents make him out to be."

Then again this debate is nothing more than sheer entertainment. Neither candidate can expect to gain much from a win here, so neither has anything to lose in calling one another, say a douche bag, so they're more likely to resort to name-calling. Each will look to gain points in how clever their name-calling actually it -- which is where I expect Edwards to shine.

But I wonder if they'll have a 15-second delay due to Cheney's known practice of dropping f-bombs in public.

4. I'm not so sure.

Of course most of them are bought and paid for GOP whores, but they also have a pack mentality, and many of them have started to smell blood in the water. And I suspect that even though mmost of them will fellate Bush without much urging, they don't like Darth Cheney very much. We shall see.

I assume that Skinner will have all the online polls posted. Immediately after the debates, we have to hit them all. And use the media blaster to get the word out. The fact is that we made such an impression last time that the media couldn't possibly spin the story any other way.

At one point late Thursday or early Friday, ninety percent of respondents to CBSnews.com said that Kerry won the debate. The old vox populi is a powerful influence, especially in the broadcast media, and we have to be working it tonight.
