2. I understand that she and C. Rice are "very good" friends
Let's take notes and be prepared to blast that bitch out of the water if she shows her bias.

3. Gwen
She's a registered Republican and "good friends" w/ Condi Rice.

Maybe they see themselves as the Soul Sisters on the right (I can say that b/c I'm black).

Anyway, Edwards will still win, despite the seated format, which I really, really hate. The Kerry folks should have insisted on podiums so Johnny Sunshine could do the body language thing.

21. Black + Green = Off White
A very close black friend gave me that equation a long time ago...and suits Ifill and others of that type quite well. The more money they get, the whiter they want to be.

We'll see quickly if she's a journalist or a publicist.

Cheers!

Of course she will.

5. Yes, You're So Right...Her Questions Will Be Biased For Bush..
She is the worst moderator in Washington Week history, by far. She has nothing substantive to say on any issue. She is totally superficial and stupid.

8. "Mr. Edwards, uh, who does your hair?"
"I don't have a question for Mr. Cheney. I just want to say how much I admire your leadership and I hope you pray for me. Now god is in the whitehouse AND in an undisclosed location."

9. This isn't right. No one that is
closely tied to anyone in the Administration should be allowed to moderate. I guess we will find out tonight what is more important to her--credibilty as a journalist or her bias towards the Administration.

16. Yeah, she does smirk, especially when she's
spouting an anti-Democrat slam.

The one I can think of was during the primaries when
she said something about "who cares about it" or something
like that.

I can't stand the woman.

11. Thats totally UNFAIR
Ihave seen Gwen on PBS and she doesn't show a bias. I know she may be friends with Condi but if she has a bias she certainly never shows it when I watch her

25. Brent
I've been a journalist of one type or another since seventh grade. I attended j school at Central Michigan University (one of the three best in this state) and worked at the Metro desk of a real daily newspaper for several years. I think I can tell the difference between a good journalist and a shill.
Gwen is a shill. She spins it like a Tastee-Freez cone. She's bad enough on the News Hour, but she's truly horrible hosting "Washington Whores on Review." I expect such corporate whorishness from ABCNNBCBS, but PBS is supposed to be playing it straight (at least that's what the "WWoR" promos say). Michelle Martin was very good and Jim Lehrer is better than average for what you can expect from broadcast TV. But Gwen bites big time.
John
Gwen is just one prominent new face on the (here) Friday Night PBS lineup. So is Tucker Carlson and so is whichever right-wing Republidink they're cutting the second half-hour of NOW for. They join old mossbacks like John McLaughlin and Pat Buchanan. Don't think the PBS news division is the friend of any liberal -- they just patronize us enough to cop our donations four times a year.

12. Just this past weekend, she showed her bias on her "show"
I can barely watch the show and forget the pathetic name of it...Capitol Update or whatever...where she was yakking about how Kerry "voted for the war" and some other comments about how Bush did better in the debate that others thought...

I didn't know she hung out with Olive Oil.

13. Is Ray Suarez Next?
Judy Woodruff is a Newshour alum and she's become nothing but a right-wing mouthpiece.

I think the Newshour is a great show, but Ifill is nuts when she freelances.

20. She's always seemed biased to me.
I remember after the Supremes gave the last election to the Chimperor, she gloated that she would say he won the election no matter what anyone else thought.

24. Iffel BIAS is t h i ck enough
to cut slice through. Examples above rght on it. Has made me
disssgusted I can rarely stay on PBS when I see her.

That sh'ed say Bush did well in the debate--better than some think--describes she's whacked. His performance and content what holds up the FOUNDATION of her mentality. She shld be with FOX a true Carl Cameron..Hannity-O'Really.
