I honestly thought this would be a draw... I was mistaken. He's doing great!

12. Edwards DESTROYED him on foreign policy...
Edwards ably defended Kerry's positions while simultaneously leaving a dozen heavy attacks on the table that Cheney NEVER even responded to.

37. not surprising
Cheney is the more seasoned politician even though he's a VERY corrupt politician. Edwards is doing great though...He's holding his own. Cheney's ice stature is breaking....

No.
He is holding his own and then some though.

All Edwards needs to do is hold his own against Cheney.

Afterall, Luke didn't strike down Vader in their first matchup either.

I hate the word "meme" but I think the Skywalker vs. Vader analogy is SOOOOO apt here. I'm gonna use it in the next few days... :-)

16. Edwards is mopping up Cheney with domestic issues
If it wouldn't have been for Cheney's snarls, the foreign policy part would have been a draw, but Edwards eked out a small foreign policy win because Cheney's nonverbal communication made him look like he wanted to strangle anyone who disagreed.

Now, Edwards is gonna finish:bounce:

26. Edwards is doing great, but unfortunately Cheney is a master at lying
It'll look like a draw if we're lucky, IMO. The Puppetmaster is spinning a nice web of lies. The good news is we can convince more people that Dubya is mostly a yes man for Cheney and the Neo-Con gang.

29. I don't think its an ass-kicking
He's doing well and will convince people who worry about his experience. But it's more or less even.

I think the thing we will learn from this debate is that more women voters will come to our side because JE conveys competence without the Cheney personage. BTW, I think that's why the stem cell stuff was effective to bring up after the last debate. Keep building on it...and opening up African Americans now too.

34. Cheney is 100 times smarter than Bush. Edwards is smarter than Cheney
Edwards doing great.

The only weak moment I thought was when Cheney went ballistic on not counting Iraq casualties as "allied casualties". We did not address that point directly and need to in the spin room

Another weak point needs shoring up -- Cheney and Bush have both raised th point that we can't call it a "coalition of the bribed and bullied", and both times that went unanswered.

Here is my answer: The foreign governments did have to be bribed and bullied because the vast majority of the people in these countries strongly opposed the war in Iraq and opposed sending troops there. There governments overruled the will of their own peoples.

42. my money was on edwards to begin with but i think edwards is
doing better than i thought he would. cheney looks stiff and when he starts to attack, he just looks downright nasty. i think one of the hardest things cheney will have to do is to be tough without looking like an absolute monster.

so far, he has come off as a creepy, snarling cremudgeon.
