12. Insurance Corps' Fault

It is the insurance companies fault for raising the damn premiums on the OBGYNs that have NEVER been sued. How is that fair? If a Doctor that killed a lady through a gallbladder surgery is successfully sued then the insurance corps raise the premiums on the OBGYN! How un-fucking-fair is that? It is their damn fault, why blame it on the lawyers? Oh yeah, I forgot... Repubs want to keep the little man on the bottom of the pile. Common GOP Bullshit once again...

13. med malpractice..the one thing i don't like about this democratic ticket

juries should not decide if a doc is incompetent - other doctors should!

i'm looking to go into neurosurg, and my friends and fam send me articles about neurosurgeons who have to shut down shop cuz they pay 100+ grand in premiums. i love helping patients in a deeply meaningful way and i loved being in the or the few times that i did, but making 150 grand a year for 11 years of work simply isn't financially sensible. i can go into another field in medicine and finish sooner, make way way more, and still be able to help patients without the immense risk of losing your licesnse cuz a jury decided you are incompetent.

now imagine that's the thought process of every budding neurosurgeon(who, i will tell you, all have money somewhere on their mind...we're not fucking saints here) and who the hell will fix the subdural hematomas and advance seizure surgery? it's scary what's going on and what almost noone on DU talks about.

i'm not happy at all about edwards running with kerry. i'm not a freeper and dissent is good within our party as it is within this nation. it's just a different perspective.
