4. Edwards is anhead of Cheney in most polls so far |
|
In several polls he is as far ahead of Cheney as Kerry was ahead of Bush in the first debate.
THis is significant considering that Edwards has not finished one term in the Senate while Cheney has year of political experience.

11. Speaking of experience, |
|
I think Edwards should have pointed out that he has had as much experience in elected office as Bush had when he was elected President.

8. Their TV media and some print use the numbers |
|
They have some influence, especially for those who don't watch the heads spin.

9. The results are still less than scientific. |
|
I really doubt this debate changed anyone's mind. Cheney people stayed with Cheney, Edwards people stayed with Edwards. In the long run, I think its a draw. No significant change one way or the other.
Stakes are big for Friday night.

12. The most important polls |
|
And the most important information that was drawn out of last nights intant polls, was that Edwards impressed a very large percentage of the undecided voters...far more than Cheney did.
The polls of undecided voters last night were the ones that showed the largest gap between Cheney and Edwards. The polls that were reasing 93 percent for thought Edwards won, and 7 percent thought Cheney won were the polls of the undecided voters.
Even the electronic tracking of undecided voters indicated that when Edwards spoke, you had levels on each question running into the 80-90 percentage points, while Cheney rarely got over 70 percent.
All that matters at this point is the impression given to the undecided voters, and by and large the call ins of undecided voters on CSPAN and other Channels taking calles largely indicated that Cheney didnt impress anyon except those who are firmly comitted to Bush and that many who are undecidedwere less than impressed with the texture of CHEneys debating which was largely to a more slick voersion of the fear mongreing he engaged in a few weeks ago. If you vote for Kerry, you will be killed by terrorists. It did not take among many of the undecided voters.
