Cheney thanked Ifill but not Edwards
showing what a graceless ass he is. Did anyone else notice this? Are any of the professional windbags bringing it up?

5. Before their closing statements
Edwards thanked Gwen Ifill and the Vice President. When Cheney's turn came up, he thanked Ifill and then launched into his remarks without mentioning Edwards.

I don't remember the opening remarks, but I would guess each participant thanked the other, the moderator, and the facilities at that time.

9. They thanked each other in the opening
though I believe Cheney just nodded at Edwards and said 'Senator' followed by his trademark cough.
The ommission at the end I think was very obvious, and edwards had raised his eyebrows in suprise when he went on without acknowledging him. Very disrespectful from a grumpy tired old man.

12. Did you also
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 10:55 PM by CrowNotAngelGRL
notice that Edwards thanked Cheney for being there, but Cheney never said "thank you" to Edwards. At least Bush said thank you to Kerry.
He did, didn't he? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

4. Eiffel did a poor job tonight, and I think she probably knows that!
If she doesn't, her boss will tell her tomorrow.

Yes, I noticed, but I also notice that Lehrer went up on the stage to shake hands for both candidates in the first debate. Did Gwen do that?

8. I wondered if Ifill got a little flustered looking into JE's eyes at such
close range for 90 minutes - seriously - as time went on she seemed to stumble more frequently.

She did shake both candidates' hands afterwards.

11. No, but everyone was seated this time
One question that I thought was kind of unfair was when she asked Edwards how he was qualified to be VP when he had so little political experience. Of course he couldn't say the truth which is, "Well, I haven't had 4 heart attacks!". I mean seriously, if someone is supposed to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency, they'd damn well better have a bunch of those heartbeats left. Cheney doesn't!

6. I'm sorry but i thought that was hysterical
I mean yes, it was rude and he's an evil dick and all, but man it's just funny to me to see people completely living up to their stereotypes, it was so amusingly unncessary.

7. My favorite quote from Gwen was when the VP said he could reply but
would need more than 30 seconds. Well that's all you get, she said :)

14. That was my favorite as well!!! I think it was Gwen's too!
I don't think much of Gwen as a moderator, but I really think I heard a hint of glee when she said "Well that's all ya got!"

Wouldn't ANYBODY want to be able to tell Cheney TS!

16. I noticed that too
Ifill was Cheney's best friend tonight, nice little cheap shot lie she had at Edwards with the Israel/Palestine question. Pathetic wench.
