I find it ironic that the only thing to humanize Cheney is a lesbian
I also find it sad that pundits are giving him glowing remarks for his moment of human-like behavior. It's like when Bush would complete an entire sentence without screwing up in the 2000 elections and the press would drool all over it. Talk about setting the bar low.

1. It was his best moment - I only wish Edwards had concluded
his remarks by saying, "It's a shame they wouldn't let your daughter on the stage at the Republican National convention."

2. Its funny, that whole exchange seemed to...
take the wind out of Cheney. He stopped attacking Edwards, and actually
looked at him sort of admiringly while he was responding to the tort
reform thing. After that Cheney slowed down and looked frankly tired
of the whole thing and half there.

3. yeah did you notice when JE said "it's all politics and it's wrong" ...
the moderator asked if Cheney wished to respond and Cheney was just like "nope." It seemed like a pretty telling moment to me.

4. His daughter's girlfriend was on stage
and she looked like she felt out of place. Gee, maybe she's a democratic and WAS out of place.

It seemed obvious to me that Cheney was just mouthing his support of the President on the Constitutional ban on gay marriage; there was no sense of conviction there.

5. The ONLY thing that humanized Cheney...
...is something that impacted him personally and directly. His record otherwise is one of horror, predjudice, greed. He's the loan officer that turned you down, the smarmy crooked police chief that pulls a Bull Connor <sp>, the autoshop manager that tried to cheat you on your repairs. Edwards was the guy from down the street that's always grilling with the kids, and offers to help when you are moving in a new couch, who seems willing to be a hand, not a hindrance.

6. that's a very good point
Makes me wonder if Cheney would be against the war if he had a kid fighting in it.
