1) Cheney appealed to his base, not the American public. 2) Edwards was introduced to America for first time. 3) Edwards is much better looking. 4) Edwards came across better. Cheney is as boring as a mule. 5) Edwards had a better closing statement. i might be biased on this one. 6) Cheney had few plans for anything. He also attacked Edwards, which I don't think will help him.
It was a draw as far as appealing to bases is concerned, but I think Edwards might have one over some undecideds.
He looked strong, handsome, and capable.

What is at stake is the vote of the undecideds, and Edwards was more likely than Cheney to have won them over.
