I saw a look of resignation in the face of Cheney tonight |
|
No matter what the screw-balls at MSNBC may say, Edwards did a fine job. Cheney could not respond to several of the charges Edwards made tonight. It became so cumbersome to Dick that it came down to "where do I begin" and his refusal to elaborate when given the opportunity. He KNOWS he doesn't have a good record to stand on. Cheney can lie for so long, but 90 minutes of it simply wore him out.
Shrub and Dick - you've got nothing to run on. Your talking points are history. The lying and catch phrases don't work anymore. The American public has awakened, and will send your sorry asses out of Washington.

1. Thanks for pointing this out. |

I think he threw in the towel because he knows something is about to blow and because he is sure Bush will have a meltdown of epic proportions Friday night. I suspect Bush is doing an imitation of "Goat Boy" from SNL and his handlers are changing batteries as fast as they can. Why on earth would you give up two rebuttal periods. He was tired and listless. The press is becoming increasingly irrelevant.
Excellent point!!!

He didn't let Cheney walk all over him.
Cheney has a practiced persona of coming across like an authoritarian dad who knows what's best for everyone. He lies with ease (e.g., that he didn't meet Edwards before tonight) by speaking in a measured monotone that makes it sound like what he's saying is reasonable.
Edwards did some damage, imo, regarding issues like Halliburton, outsourcing, and the lack of connection between Iraq and 9/11. He re-emphasized the bread-and-butter issues - I'm looking forward to the presidential debate on the economy.
