Will Freepers voting Edwards backfire...
If the media was going to give this debate to Cheney, will they now decide to go with Edwards because of the polls?

I don't know. Just asking.

1. Doesn't seem like a wise strategy to me
but hey - whatever floats their boats.

3. I don't have time to worry about them and their
backfiring strategies at the moment. But it does give you an insight into how their minds (don't) work.

4. freepers have too little overall effect
Most people are going to these sites from watching on TV. They're support will only mean a modest bump. The idea that FR or DU could skew voting in big margins on these major news network sites is laughable.

5. The story I kept seeing/hearing this afternoon was about GOP urging...
... it's minions to vote in online polls, spin it for Bush/Cheney.

Conclusion? There ain't no minions. Bush's base has collapsed since his shockingly poor performance on Thursday. It's over.

:)

12. Carolyn, I have to agree with you on that.
All repukes aren't freepers. Most repukes aren't freepers.

There IS NO base left for Cheney and Bush.

8. I'm 0rganism, and I approve their strategy
While their pro-Edwards "freep" stands a high chance of backfiring as you suggest, I thoroughly approve of their goal: discrediting self-selected online polls. Seldom has the internet been so horribly abused as when CNN or some other "respectible" news organization reports their corrupted online poll data as "news", as if it's in any way comparable to an actual opinion survey.

This is a WIN-WIN situation. Thanks, freeping creepers.

The "eye-candy" on-line polls need to go. If these media outlets want to take a
"pulse" they need to follow something like the Zogby model. Let people "opt-in" for polling questionairs and then do some sensible statistical analysis on the returned results.

10. Did Freepers post that they should vote for Edwards AFTER Edwards was
winning all the polls as a face-saving device?

16. Yes. They did.
They were despondent about getting their butts kicked, and someone suggested voting for Edwards.

14. I have a better idea for freepers.
They should just vote for Kerry/Edwards on election day.
That will really prove that all polls are crap, considering they show this race as even and Kerry will win by a landslide!
:silly:

Are you sure any of them are voting for Edwards? I just looked over there, and all I can find is notices to go vote for the Dick man.

18. Well, look at the results of the polls
They aren't voting for the Dick man. Or if they are, there aren't that many of them. Either way is fine with me.

17. Every poll I see is 80% for JE. That's what everyone else will see.

Bottom line - JE kicked ass.

19. That's right
The left now owns the online theatre of the spin war. The freepers have collapsed in the past 2 debates.

20. This scientifc poll says Edwards pasted Cheney but good!

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/08/politics/main ...

A CBS News poll of 178 uncommitted voters found that 41 percent said Edwards won the debate, versus 28 percent who said Cheney won. Thirty-one percent said it was a tie.

A majority of uncommitted voters came away from the debate believing that both men could be an effective president if needed. More of those surveyed (76 percent) said they liked Edwards personally than said they liked Cheney (53 percent).
