1. Good.
Aaron isn't a complete whore. And I was shocked and stunned to see CNN's Washington panel calling it a draw. I figured they'd be giving the win to Cheney like Matthews & Co. tried to do on MSNBC (but quickly had to back away from once they got poll results & e-mails, no doubt)!

12. Yeah, so he gets a little pissy in his emails
But think about it:

1. At least he doesn't spin his ass off in his replies.

2. At least he replies to his email.

Sure, it sounds like he can be a bit abrasive in his emails, but anyone ever get a reply from Wolfie or Judy?

7. and
Jeff Greenfield is giving a super good review of the debate and bringing up some important issues some may not have thought of!

>> He said if Cheney did better than Bush, this is NOT GOOD FOR BUSH AT ALL!!

>> He said that Edwards did a far better job than Cheney on domestic issues and this will resignate with the American people better.

GoooOOOoooo Jeff! :bounce:

8. This other guy analyzing...
talking about the possible/probable problem if Cheney does better than gw* in a debate. The feeling left with the public that it is Cheney running the country instead of gw*.

9. They are discussing the coalition casualities
The difference between cheney including casualities not part of the coalition and Edwards just using the coalition numbers.

14. That was Bill Schneider..
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 11:31 PM by Princess Turandot
I don't think the Iraqi security forces who got into the fight after the war was declared significantly over, were relevant to the question being discussed. (I'm NOT dismissing their lifes, so please don't jump on that.) Edwards said that we had taken 90% of the coalition casualties, which was true (88.5% according to the pentagon) because he was making the point that the reference to 30+ allies being behind us was misleading, since unlike the Gulf War, that other allies put in more people and most of the $$$.

Schneider also said that while they had not yet checked the Haliburton 'facts', based on his recollection, what Edwards said abt Haliburton was more or less correct.

I read on another board -some news one- that the problem with this debate tonight was that it showed that 3 out of 4 candidates in the race appeared Presidential, only Bush isn't one of them lol, which was sort of Greenfield's point, I guess.

15. Comparing Iraq I allies with Iraq II allies is like comparing...
oranges to apples

The caliber of allies in Iraq II is not near that of Iraq I.

11. Aaron Brown is an overpaid jerk,
but he's right this time. At the very worst, no harm was done to Edwards or Kerry. I'm not sure if any harm could be done to Cheney because his approval numbers are down in the 35% range anyway.
