Cheney seemed intimidated by Edwards' charm and looks.
Did anyone else get that feeling? It was as if he was afraid to really put out any energy or charm of his own, because he knew Edwards would outshine him there. So he rolled for that part of it, and I think it killed him. He didn't need to outcharm Edwards, which is hardly possible, but he should have showed something. In a way his shining moment came when he simply thanked Edwards for Edwards' kind words about his family. There was some warmth there, and when he spoke of his daughter, but most of the rest of the time he looked like a mumbling apparatchik.

1. I also thought Cheney's manner changed dramatically at that time.
He even seemed sincerely grateful to Edwards for making nice comments about Cheney's feelings for his daughter. I was surprised.

3. I noticed it too.
He got a lot softer afterwards, and I think that hurt him. Curiously, it was after he got soft that I saw a human being. It let Edwards roll him, but I saw a guy I could sit down over a beer with, and to tell the truth, I hated Cheney before this debate.

I got the feeling watching him that he went into Iraq thinking it was the right thing to do for the country, not just the right thing for George Bush's popularity, which is why I think Bush did it.

5. Oh please! So the guy acts like a human being for 2 seconds
(and I'm not sure why,I suspect perhaps the utter embarrassment of Edwards mentioning the daughter left him speechless) and you are ready to forgive him all this terrible shit?

6. I looked through my post,
and no where in there do I "forgive," or imply forgiveness. Way too many people have died for that, and good intentions or not, it was colossally bad judgment from the start.
