Favorite Debate Moments
I loved it when Edwards came back with all the things Cheney voted against like -

Meals on Wheels & Head Start.

It might have been awhile ago or whatever - but these are really basic things a lot of people take for granted as good things. My mom (Republican) and her mom (Republican) had both volunteered a lot with Meals on Wheels.

I think it says a lot - combined with how Edwards hammered home that it's the rich the Republicans are rewarding with tax cuts.

I think it made Cheney look like a scumbag.

2. My fave:
This country can't afford another four years of your kind of "experience."

paraphrasing here

You could hear the sizzling of Cheney's flesh after that one; Edwards BURNED him with it!

3. I agree
Edwards' statement of Cheney's voting record really exposed the VP as the heartless man he is (both literally and figuratively). Against MLK day! Against Meals on Wheels! Against the resolution to set Nelson Mandela free! It was almost comical.

I think Cheney's best moment was when he thanked Edwards for his kind words about his family and moved on. I think Edwards was trying to embarass Cheney for working against his own family with his policy but Cheney's response pretty much left it to fizzle out. I got the impression during that entire segment that Cheney was personally against the FMA but was just supporting the administration as his job.

4. "Go to factcheck.com, because I'm so up on the internet..."
Edited on Tue Oct-05-04 11:36 PM by tjdee
except it's factcheck.ORG, and factcheck.COM has been bought by George Soros and forwards to his site.

The best other than the part you named, is when Edwards layed the smackdown on Halliburton, Libya, and Iran, leading Cheney to reference the above site.
