Its amazing, only MSNBC is whoring 100% for Cheney
Most other stations are saying it is a draw and that there were knock out punches, even FOX is acting more reasonable than MSNBC.

Everyone on MSNBC is giving the edge to Cheney...cheney had better facts, more presidential, controled the debate....that is all your hear from MSNBC. WTF?

I feel like all of the talking heads on MSNBC decided before the debate that Cheney won and were waiting 90 minutes to say so no matter how bad it went for Cheney. They are not critical of anothing Cheney did tonight and instead are taking apart every word Edwards said.

FUCK TWEETY AND MSNBC, including Ron "I cant get a word in" Reagan!

13. Not half.
The whole of what he said were not just any old lies, but lies that have been discredited by actual historic facts. Everything he said, without exception.

21. I'm furious!! Matthews and MSNBC must be relentlessly attacked
That's never my preference or my style, but this is pure unabashed bias. Correct, Matthews sat there almost mummified last Thursday, barely above whisper and basically whimping out with a draw assessment. As always, he has zero backbone and began calling it a decisive victory for Kerry two days later.

Tonight it was like their entire crew was wishin' and not watchin'. GE Russert looked like he was on the verge of his daily 20,000 calorie junk food feast while drooling over Cheney. Maybe the criteria is you manage a few competent sentences and don't get sluaghtered therefore you won big. Scarborough is even refusing to mention polls that favor Edwards, literally tossing the paper off the stage. Only now is Ron Reagan managing some backbone and asking what happens if Edwards is judged the winner.

I had my debate watching party tonight, albeit a half portion with only 11 of last week's 19 regulars. My crew judged it 7-4 for Edwards, including 5-1 Edwards among women.

I thought Edwards scolded Cheney about 40 minutes into the debate on the Halliburton question and thereafter Cheney lost his energy, focus, tone of voice and virtually every exchange, especially on domestic policy. You could see Edwards becoming more confident and even smiling more and more as he realized he was besting Cheney. Most telling was before their summations, when Edwards basically said, "Thanks for coming, Dick" while Cheney did not mention Edwards at all. Body language experts would definitely score this for Edwards. At debate's end Edwards sprung to his feet while Cheney sat there, almost resigned he lost.

5. Better facts? Sure, if you're counting the LIES.
Whatever, I also heard Tweety say that Edwards wasn't ready for the job of being the vice president (cause you can tell in 90 minutes :eyes: ) and remembered I can't stand Tweets.

MSNBC is in far fewer markets than CNN and FAUX so no worries.

8. They'll have to pick apart Cheney's lies eventually.
If they don't do it, the Kerry campaign will. There's just too much great commercial fare in tonight's debate.

11. I think the only people who think Cheney "won"
couldn't know how much he lied.

I thought Edwards did a great job of pointing out a lot of the lies -esp. since the media doesn't - somebody's got to do it.

When else will Cheney be confronted?

12. The polls I posted to said Edwards won.
The VP was unable to refute Senator Edwards' accusations with regard to Halliburton. I stopped counting Cheney's lies.

MSNBC's Cheney bias sent me to the clicker. C-Span now airing congressional committee investigating Halliburton, and with regard to the stewardship of the Iraqi oil proceeds.

www.judicialwatch.org has documents that show evidence of the administration's plans to "divvy up" Iraq among "suitors" in March 2001.

With so many dead and maimed in Iraq, and the prisoner abuses, the questions are almost too awful to consider.

15. The other night on MSNBC a guest said that he knows that the media
wants a close race so they can get ratings. My guess is that with bush getting his ass kicked they are afraid of giving Edwards the edge tonight. If Edwards wins then why watch the show next time?

16. How come there were no comments from the whores about
Cheney's sneering (I mean they had no problem w/ Gore's sigh)
Cheney never making eye-contact w/ JE
Cheney lying his ass off about Al Qaeda & SH & 9/11
Cheney lying about never meeting JE
Cheney lying about how things are going well in Iraq
Cheney never responding to the Bremer comment
Cheney lying about the amount of $ for AIDS in Africa
All he did was lie. Are these people that stupid?

Well, they will have egg on their faces tomorrow when Cheney's statements are exposed for the lies they are. Can't wait until they check their facts and find out he LIED.

23. Well, Cheney lied out of his ass...
But on points, probably won the 'style' side of the debate. He looked a lot more serious and evil. Well spoken, serious looking.

He used the same 'gravitas' to sell the country on Iraq, I might add.

This is ironic. To the uninformed observer, Edwards might have come across as a nice, southern, hairdo. He sure shanked the question about why he felt he was qualified to be president should something happen to Kerry.

Edwards just let Cheney run off at the mouth with his lies, probably in a rope-a-dope. The only exception I remember was calling him out on the 'no child left behind' baldfaced bullshit. Let's see what the Dems do with this opportunity.

26. I am in SHOCK
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 12:45 AM by Cats Against Frist
I usually think they're fairly reasonable. However, I am amazed at this. I thought Edwards was really, really good. BEFORE THE FUCKING DEBATE all the MSNBC pundits were all "if this is a draw, Edwards has won."

At WORST for Edwards, it was a draw. I would say that my honest opinion was that 1. Edwards was far more convincing and likable than Cheney. 2. Cheney was much better at presenting his case than Bush, but he was shooting out lies faster than I could count -- but very convincing lies. and 3. Edwards had some weak moments -- moments he could have punched Cheney's lights out, but held off. I've read different theories, as to why.

At any rate, it seems MSNBC are giving Cheney props because he got a few cute cheap shots in, that have little to do with actual policy. I don't see how he "took apart" Kerry's record, at all -- and Edwards had responses and rebuttals for Kerry's record.

I swear, aliens kidnapped the MSNBC crew and forced them to watch a different debate, where cyborgs dressed up as the candidates.

Taking into account my obvious bias, at WORST for Edwards, it was a draw. I'm willing to concede draw, because I have a serious bias.

But he got up there, he had facts, he held his own, it was an intense debate, he had Cheney on the ropes, he didn't screw up really badly, he was sorta charming and passionate. MSNBC should have given him the "draw" and said it was an overall win for Edwards. Most of the other stations said it was a draw.

Give me a fucking break, Chris, Joe, Howard, Boston Guy. I would expect this from Ben "little grays" Ginsburg, who can spew GOP spin only second to Ed Gillespe, who should be given the trophy for "Longest String of Bullshit," but I would have expected the other moderators to be a little bit fair.

I'm really confused.

*****edited to add "than Bush"
