The Image of the debate which will last longest |
|
The end when the young, vibrant and healthy John Edwards picked up his two young children. Great visual. It connected with women voters especially. Also, his wanting to talk about health care--that was a plus the way he said it isn't being addressed enough in the debate and so he took time to address it. Some debate "experts" may think that might have hurt him, but it actually, imo, said alot about his and John Kerry's priorities and I think this is one of the reasons why he is doing so well in the post debate on-line and even scientific polls.
Finally, Edwards was up against a more formidable opponent than John Kerry was on Thursday night. He held his own on foreign policy and absolutely slaughtered Cheney on domestic issues. Proudest moment and best sound bite--when Cheney attacked Edwards attendance record and Edwards came back strongly with the litancy of votes from Head Start to opposing a Martin Luther King day that the cold hearted Cheney opposed.
I think George Baily sent Old Man Potter packing.

3. He was calm, cool. He made a lot of points. His look at Dick. And his |
|
ability to laugh at his self. He seemed honest.

8. I think it was when Edwards looked right at Cheney and said |
|
calmly "This country can't take 4 more years of this."
(or something close to that)

10. People will remember Dickie's claim the two hadn't met before tonight |
|
and then they'll remember seeing the pictures tomorrow of the two of them at a prayer breakfast. They're already showing them on CNN. Dick, Dick, Dick. :nopity:

12. Please don't compare Ebeneezer Scrooge to Col Sherman Potter |
|
In fact, don't insult Ebeneezer with a comparison to Dick Cheney. Scrooge reformed. Scrooge was a budget hawk. Scrooge ran an honest business.
