Mark Halperin of ABC News on Charlie Rose...says "Edwards looks
young" and that's disadvantage in debating Cheney.

Rose asked him about the Bremer thing...Halperins said it depends on how skillful the Democrats are in using this and if it is "clean"--he explained that "clean" meant, basically, so clear that it doesn't need a lot of explaining, I guess.

Then Rose asked him if this was Bush's election to lose. Halperin said Yes, but clarified. He said Kerry could still win it, but he has to WIN EVERY DAY or ALMOST EVERY DAY to win.

Mort Zuckerman was also on but I didn't hear much of what he had to say, except he was more in Cheney's camp.

This is the second time I've seen Halperin really trash Kerry-Edwards. He seems very much the Bush cheerleader.......

2. Age cuts both ways
I think the college kids will like Edwards because of his youthful appearance.

And I think because of Iraq and Michael Moore and Bruce Springsteen and others many more young people will vote this year.

I also think that Edwards' family appeals to young marrieds.

6.  Responsible young voters vs. shallow young voters
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 01:52 AM by Scootman78
Responsible young voters voted for Clinton because of his policies and the way he treated others with kindness and respect (regardless of what you believe about the scandals).

Shallow young voters voted for Clinton because he played the saxophone on Arsenio Hall.

I'm 26 and this is my 3rd election. I've always voted democrat. Not just because I was raised a democrat, but also because I couldn't stand anything in the Republican agenda once I was old enough to understand the differences between the two parties. I think I remember saying, "Yuck" several times. When the GOP took over Congress, I remember saying "totalitarianism" several times too. High school was full of big words like yuck and totalitarianism.

It was great to see Clinton play the saxophone. Coolest thing a politician could do to get votes and to just have a good time.

But heck, if George Bush went out on stage during Leno to play the electric guitar, I still wouldn't vote for him.

Is it likely that if this ever occurred that the shallow young voters would vote for Bush? Geeze I sure hope not. I'd end up having more serious doubts about the overall intelligence of my generation.

8. Those fuckers are jealous because John looks damn good
for 51. I personally it that will go along way with Boomers with active lifestyles. Cheney looks like he's one double cheeseburger away from the Big One at all times. He probably reminds middle aged folks of their mortality, big turn off.

4. "Win every day?"
What ever happened to all that talk that the first debate last Thursday was going to basically seal the deal for the winner? :eyes:
