What the hell is going on at www.electoral-vote.com? |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 12:48 AM by Kimber Scott
It's got Kerry at 200 to Bush's 321 electoral votes. Almost the whole map is red, or pink. I thought Kerry's poll numbers were going up? What's happening?
On edit: I see he says he's using new software and averaging over 7 days. Gawd. It looks awful.

1. Why don't you stop and remember that for the last few weeks... |
|
it has been made abundantly clear that the polls are bullshit.
Posts like this only aid in scaring more people.

Actually, I did get the memos, but many on this board have recommended www.electoral-vote.com.

Not trying to offende you....
electoral-vote is just more pollshit. Forget about the polls. Just remember we'll have the turn out and he can't fake the election if it's a fucking land slide.

Many don't like it becuase it uses polls that are clearly right wing or unreliable (polls that show NJ as a swing state for example).
They also use to have a rule where they only used the last poll done at the time, but they decided to change it to averages now.
Another thing some(well..I :)) don't like is that polls with very slim margins aren't put in a tossup category. Like, if bush wins a poll by 1%, he gets it in his column, even tho that's a statistical tie.
now...
About the EC race...i don't think there have been many state polls done since last week's debate. Hopefully, some good ones will come soon.

polls this election year in general have been very, very odd. You know, like the ones that had Bush leading double digits over Kerry(LOL). It's probaly best to remain skeptical of all of them, even the ones with Kerry ahead. That doesn't mean we make excuses and say everything's OK, tho. We still have to keep fighting til Nov. GOTV, calling people, going to homes, etc.

3. state polls trail national... the map is not as bad as it looks |
|
but you gotta flip PA, MI, NM, IA, WI back to Kerry
and take NV, WV, OH, CO, FL, Mo, AR away from Bush and back to undecided to get the actual picture.

4. State poll numbers come in unevenly. |
|
Don't pay attention to the state-by-state numbers until after bin Laden's charred clone is dragged into NYC after Columbus Day. Troops deployed to Iran the day before Halloween will certainly be voting for us by then.
