My sickbed experience of (not) watching the debate.

Worked most of the previous night and was dog tired. By late afternoon felt sick with splitting headache, couldn't even stand to have the light on. So I lay in bed while my wife watched the Veep debate in the living room. Slept through part, but then (towards the end) I heard Edwards' remarks about Bush promising being a "uniter not divider" and laying the poisonous political divisiveness of today squarely at the feet of B/C, talking about siding with the big drug companies rather than seniors on the Medicare/Canadian drug issue. His delivery was clear as a bell and I already knew he looks way better than the dying troll. Dying troll's mumbles were indiscernible.

I called out to my wife "I can hear Edwards kicking ass from in here!" and I was feeling better and came out to watch the last little bit.

She told me she hadn't thought JE had kicked Cheney's ass the way JK had done to shrub. I said is it because JE screwed up or because Cheney is less of a loser debating than shrub? She thought about it and said overall because Cheney wasn't so much of a loser as shrub.

Will have to catch the rest from an online stream tomorrow. Have been encouraged by what I'm reading, and the early polling, online and otherwise, that I'm seeing so far.
