John Edwards did well tonight. He had his facts and should be commended for his performance. To those who think he should have been more forceful with Cheney you have to realize he has to be skillful and try not to attack him too much otherwise the media whores and Republican spinsters would have him for lunch. This is a great improvement to when Joe Lieberman "debated" Dick Cheney which was not a debate at all.

Who do you think would win if Joe Leieberman debated with John Edwards? I think Edwards would smear him and do it with smoothness and facts like he did with Cheney tonight. Just my opinion.

John

6. You're kidding, right?
You are right about Lieberman and Cheny's debate. It was not comfortable to watch - Cheney rolled right over him. Joe just chuckled.
Edwards was quick and up for the sparring - it did not upset him at all.
I thought he was great!

7. Lieberman would win a debate with Edwards, using the same tactics
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 03:34 AM by secular_warrior
Cheney did tonight.

Lieberman is actually a pretty tough debater who uses humor, and is very experienced and knowledgable. Lieberman could've gone toe-to-toe with Cheney, but the truth is, DINO Joe desperately wants Republicans to like him, and he probably agrees more with Republicans than he does with his own party.

Edwards hasn't shown me anything in the primaries or tonight to suggest he could beat most established politicans of either party in a debate.

9. Why the Lieberman-bashing?
I know some of his positions can seem a bit weird, but he's a faithful Dem who worked like hell in 2000. He's also a reassuring sign that a person of faith (unlike certain fraudsters who use religion as a badge) can be involved in politics.

Don't trash fellow Dems.
