ABC admits poll numbers on debate were skewed - more republicans |
|
watched the debate according to their poll - 38% to 31% Democrats, thus explaining their quick poll showing Cheney winning debate.

1. They really hedged their bets. |
|
I can't even find where their public poll is located on their webpage.

2. There wasn't one............... |
|
they called voters after the debate and that's where they got their numbers. A very small cross section (just over 700 I believe) and it was skewed toward Republicans. Time to get a little e-mail off to them.

5. They polled about 700 LV - 38% Republican, 31% Democrat |
|
thus their results. Anyone who uses these poll numbers is misleading the public. ABC said more repugs watched the debate. Well that was according to who they called. All the other polls (scientific ones) show Edwards winning or a tie.

3. Nonetheless, this is the poll RWers are citing this morning |
|
Bush and Friends had it on Faux; RWer Rick Sanchez was trotting it out on CNN (and he was appalled when he did his little schtick with some radio talk hosts in NH who told him the CBS poll of undecideds went to Edwards).
I'm not worried though. The real story in this debate is Cheyey's lies.

4. CNN used ABC's poll out of all the polls on the VP debate! |
|
Edwards won the CNN poll but they chose to present the ABC poll results over their own?

6. Peter Jennings mentioned that himself |

A point for honest representation from the anchorman.
Thank you Mr. Jennings.

7. CNN changed their poll from a direct question "who won?" |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 06:09 AM by Dudley_DUright
to some drivel later in the evening like "did the debate help you make a decision?". Apparently they did not like the results they were getting on the first question.
On edit: I of course was refering to the on-line poll.
