CNN's early show reports on Cheney lie about never meeting Edwards
...including showing footage from Libby Dole's 2003 swearing in @ the Senate. They then show Elizabeth Edwards' greeting Crashcart on the stage after the debate, and claim she said, "Mr Vice President - we've met before... don't you remember?":D

CNN's fill-in (for the visually-pleasing but politically repulsive Carol Costello) host Rick "the Prick" Sanchez then asks, "Cheney's a busy guy; maybe he doesn't remember meeting Edwards?":eyes:

1. Yes, he is busy...
lying a country into war takes up quite a bit of time. And let us not forget that screwing taxpayers is hardly a leisure activity, it takes planning and "hard work". I mean really, how dare Elizabeth Edwards assume he had any time to remember them, considering all his unpatriotic, murderous, and time-consuming work!

2. Yes, BUT...
The other person in the conversation compared Cheney to Reagen, who sometimes forgot who the members of his cabinet were! Ricky didn't like that part.

4. Excellent!
Another nail in the coffin! Regardless of Cheney's "substance and style" in the debate, his lies have killed his chances bigtime!

5. At the rally following the debate, Elizabeth said she took great
pleasure in pointing out to Cheney his mis-quote.
This asshole is the president of the Senate and he has not met all the Senators? WTF!

6. The most important point is that this was not some off the cuff remark
It was a prepared ambush line, and Cheney could not even bother to have his staff check the veracity of the statement, just like he does not bother to check the veracity of most of the public statements he makes. The fact that he personally forgot the encounters is really no excuse here.

7. Bill Hummer interviewing Liz Cheney...
...asks, "did your father misspeak when he said he never met Edwards?" (while he asks the question, they show videotape of Cheney sitting next to Edwards at the prayer breakfast).

Liz C: "It was a huge room - possible they didn't meet."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! :D

8. Tim Russert just said on the Today Show...
... he was surprised that Cheney made that charge, considering the two had met several times previously, INCLUDING AN APPEARANCE TOGETHER ON "MEET THE PRESS"!

Russert then tried to soft-soap Cheney's blatant lie, presuming that Cheney was trying to leave the impression that Edwards was an absentee Senator. Yeah, right Tim-- just like Cheney lied over and over again in order to "leave the impression" that Saddam was directly linked to 911. The only thing this latest lie underscored was that LYING is a pattern with the Bush/Cheney team!

14. This is a big one
And even bigger is the fact that Russert is implying that lying is okay if it is to leave an impression of some sort. This statement by Russert should be spread far and wide

10. Perhaps what we DUers need to do now...
Is to find the pertinent URLs for Edwards/Cheney pics and send the links to every media outlet we know. I assume there are pics somewhere from the National Prayer Breakfast and the Meet the Press segment, among many others. I also assume that as President of the Senate, Mr. Lying Cheeks probably had his pic taken with Edwards for the traditional and official US Senate photo.

12. I couldn't believe Cheney would be THAT unprofessional...
on national tv.

I know he's unprofessional. You know he's unprofessional. But that he'd expose that unprofessionalism to the public, well even I was aghast. Delighted, but aghast.

15. please tell me...
....you didn't just say rick sanchez found another job. if he is working for CNN, then that absolutely erases any doubt i may have had about CNN tipping way right. that guy is the original "bush whore". his MSNBC stint a few years ago was the epitome of shrub cheerleading.

another good reason to keep NOT watching CNN.

if i remember correctly, doesn't ricky have a history of more than one drunk driving convictions? not that it matters, i guess
