Another lawsuit against Blackwell in Ohio...
The Cleveland Plain Dealer today (10/6) reports...

"A voting-rights group filed a lawsuit Tuesday challenging Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell's rules on provisional voting - the second such legal challenge over the controversial issue.

The suit, filed by the Ohio Voter Protection Project, says Blackwell will require some first-time voters to show identification before receiving a provisional ballot on Election Day - a violation of the federal Help America Vote Act, or HAVA."

The fulltext of the article is available at:

http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/cuyahoga/1097055103150421.xml

We clearly won the first two debates and will win the election if the voting is legitimate. Please help to keep the pressure on Blackwell.

1. I hate to say it...
but after reading the HAVA and Ohio law and the arguments in the cases, I believe Blackwell is correct in his interpretation of the law.

HAVA requires provisional voting, but it does not require the state to allow voting where you don't live. It requires the state to allow provisional voting where you do live, if you are (or even claim to be) registered elsewhere in the state.

2. and the use of technicalities can be carried to Rehnquist if necessary
remember...the voting deadline

What matters more...counting all the votes and getting it right or an arbitrary voting deadline enforced by a State level party hack who want to influence a National Election?

Rehnquist has your answer.

3. Getting out the Vote, no matter what Blackwell does.
Just a quick note. I decided to put my money where my mouth is and Joined MoveOn PAC's "No Voter Left Behind". This is an amazingly simple way for the Democrats to help assure Shrub's Defeat in Ohio, and seventeen other swing states. Leave No Voter Behind: MoveOn’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor Victory Drive will turn out 440,000 additional votes for Kerry from 10,000 targeted neighborhoods: enough to swing a close election like this one. To pull this off, we need your help. Check it out: http://www.moveonpac.org/lnvb/
They contacted me and I went to the meeting...so if they call: JUMP ON IT.
Democrats get off your ass and get busy, we only have 27 days left.
