Exactly how did Cheney "energize his base", as r/w pundits are spinning? |
|
All the spinmeisters can say regarding this great feat is that Cheney didn't do as bad as *!!!
THAT is supposed to be energizing! LOL!

How?
He didn't oppose gay marriage, abortion...didn't say the Dems would take away everyone's guns...how did he energize his base?
Those are usually what they're talking about when the Repubs 'energize their base', right?

Is simply taking away their despair from Kerry's win on Thursday.
But the more important factor is that first Kerry, and now Edwards have not just energized the Democratic base, but have started to energize the undecided.
He debates on Friday will determine what happens here. \
Edwards has dispelled the "He's too young and inepxerienced mythos that Cheney wanted to get across, mist importantly among the undecided, who stated that Edwards won by a considerable margin. (with the undecided, who won is one of the more important considerations, even if they remain undecided immediately after the debate. It is among the factors that keep coming back to them when they are trying to make the final decision)

3. He energized them by showing them that lying is still well and alive |
|
and thriving in the Bush regime. But I think they are getting nervous that those lies are just not going down so smooth with the public anymore.

9. And he energized the Democratic base by the same display of lies. |
|
They freaks are so arrogant they don't care if there are video tapes and transcripts easily available proving they are LIARS. I heard Matthews state that NBC produced a video of Cheney stating loud and clear that Iraq was directly connected to 9/11. Of course we all know that but John Q. Public needs to hear mainstream media pundits state it to "refresh" his memory.

5. Terra, fear, saddam=al quaeda, more fear |
|
Sadly, the B*/C supprot is grounded on irrational fear and unsupportable connections between Osama and Saddam. Crashcart played to all those fears repeatedly last night. Thinking people know better. The B*/C base are not thinking people.

6. Cheney made republicans feel good |
|
and that is the truth. They felt, "this is our guy. He let the trial lawyer have it. The dems can not be trusted to fight terror over seas so we'll have to fight it here..." etc. Forget about the inaccuracies, every republican was at least "Okay" with his performance...just as every dem was at least "Okay" with Edward's performance.
Only the middle matters and they seem to have leaned slightly towards Edwards. This was a debate to make the bases feel emboldened--regardless of the inconsistencies between Cheney's message and the conservatives views on some issues. In the end, after all the opinions are counted, Edwards may win because the deciding vote may be some woman who thought he looked "cute."
Bring on Friday

11. If He's Preaching To His Choir, They're In Trouble |
|
Initially, Crashcart's role was supposed to be softening up his imagine and attempt to fool the moderates again with his soft spoken demeanor. One thing they didn't figure on...how shitty the Boy King did last week and how Cheney had to ride to the resuce...not with the moderates or undecideds, but with his own damn base.
Think about that...imagine Edwards trying to consolidate Democrats behind Kerry at this late date. That's what Crashcart was trying last night. Instead of being the closer, he had to come in an stop the bleeding in his own camp.
Let 'em spin...and lie...it's starting to become clear to virtually everyone whose running for something and whose running FROM something.
Now Bunnypants has to come through Friday night or everything Crashcart did to "energize" this base will vanish and there won't be much the GOOP can do to protect their boy....of course, other than lie, cheat & steal...and this time, we're ready.
