My take - Edwards did a fine job and most important - continued the big MO |

Although at this point there are still supposedly many voters who are "undecided", I think characterizing them as "leaners" would probably be more accurate. I believe most of the real "undecided" went to Kerry leaners after the first debate. All the stories say they want to hear more, particularly about the economy and domestic issues before making up their minds, but I think what they really mean is that they are now comfortable with Kerry but want more reassurance.
Edwards I believe gave that to them last night. No, he didn't wipe Cheney all over the floor, but he did a good, credible job of reiterating the Kerry attacks on the Bush agenda and discrediting the admins many lies. I also think Cheney will (or at least should be) strung up by the media for his biggest lie - his claim he never linked Saddam, Al Qaeda and 9/11. Give that a day or two to sink in.
All along, in my opinion, there has been an undercurrent of dissatisfaction with the Bush administration and people have just been waiting to see if the alternative was satisfactory for their comfort level.
Kerry set the momentum in motion. Edwards continued it. From now on no slaughters are needed at these debates, just calm, reasonable reassurance by Kerry and the job will be done.
