Best news of the morning... |
|
www.factcheck.org is apparently experiencing nearly continuous user overloads. Bet the FWeepies have smoke opouring out of their ears when they go there 'cause Unca Dick sent them, and then they find out about all those lies.

1. I couldn't believe Cheney had the nerve to direct people there |
|
Granted, he had a point on Halliburton about deferred comp, but the rest of the facts are largely damning for him. Even the particular item on Halliburton he was referring to goes against him!
He is not dumb. How could he suggest that people get the truth?? There is nothing good for him there!

That is what bushco + crash cart count on. If anyone bothered to check the facts we would be talking about a 20+ lead for Kerry.

7. When your "deferred comp" |
|
is largely in the form of stock options, as Cheney's is, your future income is directly tied to the fortunes of the company.

10. "Deferred compensation!" What BS! It is just way to keep him on the |
|
payrolls but to look as though they are not doing anything wrong. It was an agreement and there is no mistaking why Halliburton got no bid contracts. I call it a "bonus" for steering business their way. Cheney's energy meeting prior to 9/11, the Iraq oil reserves maps that Judicial Watch sued and now have on-line from that meeting. please, it was a bonus for the compensation of expected business during the Cheney adminstration (let's not kid ourselves, I know plenty of Republicans who will concede that bush* doesn't run a thing.)

12. I think Mary Matalin mentioned it first last night, |
|
when interviewed before the debate, but I'm not entirely sure that was the website she mentioned, since I wasn't paying all that close attention. I'm assuming she got the URL right if it was, and directed people to factcheck.org, but it was still a very strange thing for her to do with so many articles critical of Bush/Cheney there. Makes me wonder if someone at the White House had just been emailing copies of select articles from the website, giving people there a false impression that it was pro-Bush.
By the way, even with the website overloaded, you can pull up a lot of the articles by doing a Yahoo or Google search for factcheck.org. And just the results pages with the brief quotes show there's plenty of debunking of this administration's claims.
It was a huge mistake for them, even without Cheney's bungling of the URL, and Soros's quick use of that error.

8. Yeah I did not think they liked facts.... |
|
I know they don't like facts enough to send them there...Dick should get a little more computer savvy and know the difference between . this and . that, but you do remember them having trouble connecting dots.

If he was "smart" and on the ball, then .org and .com would have been something he was aware of. Maybe Cheney assumed that, like some sites, they owned both? I doubt it. I count it against him.
I noticed that dick went limp towards the end of the debate. He started out with a strong, bullish look. Then, he looked like he was going to trun in to RoboCheney and reap mass destruction. Bit'o'red in the face?
Finally, he just deflated and I could have sworn I saw a thought balloon go up next to him: "Hell! I don't need to take this and keeping up with the lies is bad for my heart. That guy should be VP and take the heat for a change. Yeah, that's the ticket!"
