3. Talking about Family
They asked Kerry if one of his daughters are more like him and he said both are like him in certain ways.

They asked Thresa about raising boys. Phil's wife thinks they have a lot in common because they both raised boys

schools? I don't watch the show but maybe I'll check it out this afternoon.

6. Phil's wife
says she thought they would be very political. But they were very real. Phil says he was very impressed with Kerry. But he didn't know much about THresa. And when he talked to her he found her to be very funny and warm. Again very impressed.

When they come back from commercial he asks the tough questions about the divorce and how he broke it to the kids. Stay tuned

7. The Daily Show did a GREAT bit on Dr. Phil & Bush
They froze the frame on the faces of W & Laura when Dr. Phil asked about the "epidemic of middle school oral sex."

It was priceless. Check it out online.

21. Dr. Phil really asked that?
And, there is an epidemic of oral sex in middle school? Damn, I wish I was young again. (Of course, I was so painfully shy at that age, that I'd still likely not get anything!)

23. It's from a survey done last year
that concluded that a high percentage of middle-school kids were considering or actively engaging in oral sex.

I considered oral sex in middle and high school; I considered it highly unlikely.

25. Just like most girls that I knew in high school. LOL
In fact, most of them considered a date with me to be highly unlikely, too. LOL

I doubt that the had oral sex with their boyfriends either... maybe regular sex, but not oral. LOL

This younger generation! LOL

28. I was so shy in middle school
I was so shy in middle school that when a hot new girl called me up at home, I got so flustered on the phone & hung up barely saying more than "hello"...

She even continued to be nice to me throughout high school, though I was in the nerd crowd & she was in the cool girl crowd. But, there was a reason I was voted shyest in my class in both my 8th grade & my high school graduating classes, and I never dated her at all. Heck, even a year out of high school, she saw me and was very friendly.

Looking back, I kick myself over that.

35. Aw
that's cute. I've had moments like that. Where you just wanna kick yourself. In 7th grade I was a very shy person myself and had a few friends I hung out with. One of these popular boys liked me and I thought it was a joke. One day we were waiting for the end bell to go home and a friend of the guy asked me out for the guy in front of everybody, so I stupidly said no instead of saying "maybe." :eyes: Oh, well. At least now I know better and am not shy anymore. :D

8. Divorce
Why be seperated for 6 yrs? They were trying to make things work.

Kerry says the most important thing was making sure the kids were the number one priority. It always has to be about the kids

How did you break it to the kids?

He said he told them the truth. Him and his wife sat down with them as a couple.

15. Kerry on Birds and the Bees
This is a great interview. Its hard to explain. You have to see it.

But he gave a nice response to the Birds and the Bees. He said one of the kids at school told his daughter about it and she came home and sked him. ANd he had to take this cardboard and draw diagrams.

17. Daytime TV Is Our Friend
I've read Dr. Phil supports Democrats and this interview really makes the Kerrys look good. Plus expect them to be on Oprah (not sure if Bunnypants & Pickles) in the next couple weeks and this could really be a turning point with undecided women.

Also, desite comments to the contrary, Regis IS a Democrat...supporting Bill Bradley in 2000 and has refered to himself as a "New Deal Democrat" (remember he's 73) and there's Jerry Springer whose worked hard throughout Ohio and I've grown to respect over the past several years.

Unlike the food fights on cable so many of us are used to, these forums reach a lot of people who we need to...and in most cases either unfiltered and in a favorable light.

18. How do they deal with attacks
Thresa says she's thankful she is as old as she is because she can deal with the attacks better. She use to get very angry. She says she knows a lot of people don't like her. But if you want everyone to like you don't get into politics. lol

They are getting to see who the man really is and not the cartoon character that Bush administration is putting forth.

was the first thing that opened me to the man kerry. and respect that part of him. and then watching him with children, opened me totally to the man kerry. this is what women look for...........this is how we see

now, it has allowed me to become enthusiastic in my choice of kerry, always agreed with policy

on the campaign trail -- same kind of body language. Anyone who tries to look a people in the eye, no matter how small, is alright by me.

30. Re: the epidemic of oral sex in middle/high schools ... NYT article.
http://www.faculty.fairfield.edu/faculty/hodgson/Courses/so142/News_stories/TeenSex.html

You have to read this article from the NYT (this is a mirror site -- too lazy to try to find it on archive) ...

You will find it appalling ... everyone must read it ... I'm sure the Prexy didn't bother.

41. He actually was a psychologist for a little while
although he readily admits to not liking the practice. He made his money for many years as a hired gun- a jury consultant who sold his services to the highest bidder.

In a sense, he's not really a doctor. In the bipolar community, we refer to them as tdoc's (counselors and therapists) as opposed to pdocs (real physicians/psychiatrists). There's actually a pretty big difference in terms of respect and authority.
