Can't people already do this now as a supplement to their insurance to buy prescription drugs or pay for other medical expenses tax free? Isn't it understood by now that MSA's are a nice supplement to insurance but not a substitute for it? I'm sure your average worker living from check to check isn't going to be able to sock away enough money in these accounts to pay for more than at very most a couple doctor's visits for themselves let alone visits and tests for themselves and their dependents.

Why don't they just state their real position : "We don't care that some people don't have health insurance. We think that people who don't have it must be losers who do not deserve it." Because if you believe that people have a right to decent health care, it's real simple, you give them insurance coverage.
