<<France Was Ready to Send Troops to Iraq, Book Says

By Glenn Kessler
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, October 6, 2004; Page A18

French officials were prepared to provide as many as 15,000 troops for an invasion of Iraq before relations soured between the Bush administration and the French government over the timing of an attack, according to a new book published in France this week.

The book, "Chirac Contre Bush: L'Autre Guerre" ("Chirac vs. Bush: The Other War"), reports that a French general, Jean Patrick Gaviard, visited the Pentagon to meet with Central Command staff on Dec. 16, 2002 -- three months before the war began -- to discuss a French contribution of 10,000 to 15,000 troops and to negotiate landing and docking rights for French jets and ships. >>

What a child Bush is. Read to the end of the article. Bushie is upset because Chirac keeps mentioning his dad. Bush is like a 16 year old boy.

3. They sent a similar # to Desert Shield/Storm
Something RWers never mention. The French General even had effective control of a brigade of the 82nd Airborne too.

Why isn't this all over the media? So, Bush lets French assistance slip away because he's resentful of his FATHER, and then his admin. spends months TRASHING THE FRENCH?!!!

5. This is a thing of beauty! Bush is a spoiled child not a leader.
Bush was pissed because Chirac kept praising Poppy so he blew off the French

6. OMG............
We have a cockoo clock for a leader. I didn't know the French were willing to help. Welllllll then, is that dried egg I see on shrubs face?

I thought the French and the German's were against going into Iraq because they KNEW it would be the wrong move, tactically speaking, and for no good reason. Wow

7. Bush's new talking point is to claim KERRY scorns allies.
I kid you not. His claim is that Kerry's criticism of the administration's inability to marshal more than the relatively small number of troops in Iraq is "scorn" and an "insult." Never mind that Bush can't give a speech without attacking anyone who disagrees with him, be it liberals, Massachusetts voters, or whoever.

It's shameless. Bush and Cheney both get out of service in Vietnam, increase hatred for America around the world, alienate our long-time allies, and what do they do? Attribute to Kerry their own sins.

They have NO shame.

And they have no strategy, except to screw us all over a thousandfold. They must be removed from office.

Poland of course with one fifth the troops was New Europe...simple...we loan Poland 300 million, they spend it on Lockhhed planes and send a couple thousand warm bodies which of course they now want to withdraw (and who can blame them)
