Cheney has unilaterally DOUBLED THE DEATH TOLL in Iraq
He condemned Edwards for not including Iraqi casualties in the list of coalition dead. That means the 1058 Killed figure is only for people who hate America. The true coalition death toll is currently SEVERAL THOUSAND.

Kerry might want to think about using the Cheney number for the rest of the campaign.

3. Absolutely.
They need to put Cheney in his place for spinning that. If Cheney wants to play with the numbers, Kerry should use those numbers agains them. Hell, maybe Kerry should start counting the Iraqi civilian deaths, sinc Iraq is our ally now. It reminds me, in a way, of how they passed the defense budget without including the cost for the Iraqi opperation. Lower the number when it's convenient, and then raise it again later.

Besides which, does it really make things better than a lower PERCENTAGE of American soldiers have died? They still died, didn't they? Is Cheney going to call up the families of our fallen soldiers and tell them it's okay, because their child's sacrifice was a smaller percentage of the blood spilled?

4. Casualties
american dead: ~1140 (Combat)
American Wounded ~6000 (Combat)
Americans evacuated: 15000 (Non-Combat)
Iraqi dead between 11000-14000

Are these the current rough numbers? Why do they ignore the 15000 that have been evacuated due to non-combat injuries? And ignore the wounded ~6000???

Please update if i am wrong...

5. White House won't allow civilian deaths /wounded to be published.
So, how can they use the stats. Kerry should ask for full disclosure first.

9. All the comments are true (civillians, etc.) but the Cheney number is
whatever number is 2X the US casualty rate. (Cheney said we have not borne 90% of KIA, but have only borne 50%.)

So either Cheney has resurected 500+ dead Americans, or the true death toll is higher than we are being told.
