It bugs me that consti-Cheney gets to sit down because he doesn't have the energy to stand up and fight like an adult. And the debate committees always coddle him, the frickin' weakling!

Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Chair Mike Erlandson offered the following statement in response to tonight's debate between John Edwards and Vice-President Dick Cheney.

"In tonight's debate between Dick Cheney and John Edwards, the American people saw the past versus the future, fear versus hope, and more of the same versus a fresh start.

"John Edwards showed real strength and conviction -- he was in command of the facts and in total control of the debate. John Edwards proved to be a powerful advocate for John Kerry tonight and showed clearly that he will be a fighter for the middle class.

"Cheney has a lifetime record of protecting the powerful and the well-connected, and Cheney was unable to sidestep his record tonight. John Edwards forced Dick Cheney to confront his record of failure, while Edwards told the American people the truth about Iraq, the economy and the war on terror."
