Bush/Cheney's lame talking point -- "Our Iraqi allies."
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 11:55 AM by RummyTheDummy
This is a non starter for BushCo. I think by now it's clear the American people couldn't give two shits about all the brave, former henchmen of Sadam Hussein who have died during this war trying to bring about a "free Iraq."

If anyone besides progressives cared about the Iraqi people, this election wouldn't even be close. What's even more ludicrous, is to suggest Bush and Cheney give two shits about any of them. Just more meat in the grinder for them. I'd bet dollars to donuts neither one of them have lost a minute of sleep over any Iraqi casualties. I dont even think they give a rat's ass about American deaths, let alone the "brown people".

1. Newflash, Mr. Bush! We're FIGHTING the Iraqis!! We invaded their country!
They're trying to kick us out!

Only a very small percentage of the enemy are non-Iraqis who have crossed the border (even by our own numbers, at least of captured prisoners).

"Our Iraqi allies" are the ones we installed. As to Mr. Bush's taking exception to the idea that they are "puppets", well, YOU appointed them. That alone, I think, fits the definition of a "puppet" government.

Besides, Allawi was coached by your very own staff before speaking here in the U.S.

I mean, jeez, what do they have to do? Actually attach strings to him and pull them?

2. On EDIT, NO, this doesn't excuse the horrific acts of terror committed....
... by anyone over there.

But I'd bet the vast majority of the insurgents are everyday Iraqis who feel, rightly or wrongly, they are defending their country. Polls also show that the vast majority of Iraqis, insurgents or not, want the U.S. to leave now.

"Our Iraqi allies" that Mr. Bush speaks of, unfortunately, are only a small percentage of Iraqis. THAT is the problem! Bush just can't see it.
