This is a frigging debate. We want to hear what you have to say. So, use up your time, for crying out loud. Of course, the real problem was that often, he had nothing to say, and unlike the droning moron at the "top" of his ticket, Dickhead made a tactical decision, like the armchair warrior that he is, to stop speaking. He also seemed tired and battle-weary.

3. I think you are right about him not wanting to repeat himself |
|
That was one of the criticisms of *. He felt he made his point - why belabor it. Of course he was wrong and spouted nothing but lies but that's a whole other thread.

anyone talking about Cheney's ridiculous claim that US casualties are only 50% of the Coalition casualties, because Edwards didn't include the Iraqis. All the coverage I've seen is mainly positive for Cheney, who was a blatant liar throughout the debate. I think we're living in a parallel universe.

4. Yep. Even Bush didn't mention the Iraqis within the scope... |
|
... of his "coalition" in the previous debate. This was merely their spin, attempting to deflect Kerry-Edwards' damning 90% number.
FactCheck.org says the Kerry-Edwards number is accurate (within a couple % points), while Cheney -- aside from lumping Iraqis into the "coalition" -- bloated his number by 12% points!!
You nailed it, though. B-C lie w/ near impunity.

I'm glad you asked, because I noticed this too. I have two ideas regarding this. 1) He took a "pass" because he didn't have a coherent response ready. 2) He wanted to seem the bigger guy by choosing not to respond to Edwards's attacks.
I don't remember which questions he skipped his rebuttal opportunity on, but I think it weakened him. One, I think, was the issue of gay marriage. If he had used his 30 seconds, it could have hurt him seriously because his personal position is so different from the party line. His silence was definitely a strategy in this regard.

7. Another example of bring 30 minutes of answers to a |
|
90 minute debate. I think he figured he had already pushed the lie quota for one meeting and had just better shut up.

6. Cheney did business with "sworn enemies" of the US |
|
and Cheney's response was "I think the record speaks for itself"
