Cheney made a fool of Chris Matthews. Payback time
Matthews is all over Cheney's LIES today. Last night he was puking up Cheney's lies as evidence Cheney "won"

When will these idiots learn that everything that comes out of this admins smirking mouth is a LIE?

I'd like his email address so that I can tell him (Tweety) to go "F"-himself in the arse!

:argh:

Tweety is swine to the hilt!!!

13. Could you explain what you mean by this phrase
"F"-himself in the arse! Yes I understand the physical meaning, but why is it an insult. Is it an insult to gay men, to heterosexual couples who have anal sex, just why is it an insult?

I've heard this insult many times. A similar insult is that he or she is down on their knees. OK :eyes: why is that an insult?

4. He Was Amazing on "Today" Today
He actually tried to explain to Ann Curry that just because a politician says something, it's not necessarily true. She responded as if the concept was some great new insight that she was going to need a while to understand.

24. Not So Much Whorish as Clueless
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 03:02 PM by Akbar
I think in her career as an aspiring television personality, she's been led to believe (like many others) that in order to be fair, you have to treat both sides of an argument as if they are of equal merit.

So Cheney says "I never said there were WMDs in Iraq" and Tweetie says "NBC has proof that Cheney said there were WMDs in Iraq" and Curry seemed to dismiss the issue as a sort-of he-said-he-said. She even said something like "but Vice President Cheney said..." seeming to believe that Cheney's lie somehow counters the fact that he was lying when he said it.

I don't think she has an agenda. I think she's just an especially dim bulb, which is all too common in the network infotainment industry. I just wish they'd seriously try to shred any pretense to "journalism."

6. I know what changed Matthews` mind.....
It was the red hot email I sent today. Five paragraphs that I hope burned his eyes out, including the part where I told him instead of braying about Cheney`s gravitas he should spend the time washing the Iraq War blood off his hands. I suggested he got with MSNBC Republican star Joe Scarborough and perhaps the two of them could explain to us why they didn`t question the Iraq invasion but had plenty of time to cheer for Freedom Fries contests. I`m so sick of these fools.

For over four years - it certainly started during the last campaign. Don't expect him to display righteous indignation- at least not any that lasts. He is inconsistent, and whorish.

I can't help liking Tweety because he's not always on bush's side like so many of them. I can't honestly tell who he's voting for. But he does seem to be cheering for whoever is winning at the time.

22. please don't insult the 9/11 widows by comparing them with Tweety.
As far as I know they have changed course only once--once they realized they were being misled by this admin., that was it for them, and they are working for principle alone. Tweety changes daily, hourly, in the hopes that he'll attract attention and keep his job.

31. tweety was on side of admins with 9/11, then tweety listened
to the widows. once he listened to what those women said, he profoundly got outraged on the adminstration. their refusal of the commission, the not giving them the time. it was the widows that opened his eyes. that was the first time, not the last time i have seen the truth hit tweety upside the head,.............and his extreme reaction

after that and with the richard clarke book, he really went after bush fro a time. we thought he might lose his job. but he really fell in love with those women and stuck up for them, and had them front and center on his show

now what you are talking about i dont know. i have nothing but admiration for thses women

15. Don't blame Cheney.
Matthews does a good job on his own of making a fool of himself. If instead of basing his comments on what he thinks the public reaction will be and instead of kissing up to whomever he thinks will get him the best ratings he would instead do his job as a serious journalist, then these things wouldn't happen. He guessed ahead that Cheney would beat the crap out of Edwards and rather then actually pay atttention to the debate, he simply babbled his comments based on his stupid prediction. Now he sees the reaction does not support him and he looks like the ass that he is. He has no credibility as far as I am concerned. He is just another cheap media whore.

He read the polls. He also read the polls pouring into MSNBC and saw what the audience is composed of. He's a brown noser looking to hold his job and his big paycheck. He's a terrible analyst. He would be on the side of Charlie Manson if it proved popular.

He was giving Cheney a "marginal victory" last night, but now he's giving it to Edwards given that the main "smackdown" from Cheney ("The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight") was a lie.

28. Excellent article. My only comment is in relation to the
reporter who said it was a "feel good moment" when Cheney conceded his 90 second response with regard to the gay issue. He did that because he agrees with Edwards. If he hadn't said thank you and shut up, what else could he have said? I don't think him saying, "what he said" would hold much water with the right wing neo-cons who actually confuse homosexuality with NAMBLA and think that gay teachers are in schools for recruitment purposes!

Rant over. Thank you.

26. Scarborough.....
Did anyone hear scarborough's comment during after hours?

He was showing the web page with his web poll on the debate, which at the time was 68 percent for Edwards, and 31 percent for Cheney. His comment was something like.....the people voting in the online poll must be drinkning vodka.....or something to that effect.

If it had come from someone else it could have been fairly offensive, but it was just Sherrif Woody (aka Joe Scarborough), so I got a laugh out of it.

How does it feel to be wrong again? You and Scarborough should have a pretty healthy number of checks by now with the White House seal on it.

Only one thing, you won't get to pick the President this time.

33. Matthews is the most inept and spineless debate analyst of all time
In 6 debates from 2000 and 2004, he has maintained the same opinion only once -- that Bush had a clear advantage in debate #2 in 2000, the foreign policy debate with Gore in a self-imposed coma. I have a dozen VCR tapes from 2000, including the debates and post-debate analysis. This year he has merely replaced Peggy Noonan with Andrea Mitchell as a nearby parrot.

It's absolutely hysterical to watch Matthews spin with the wind after a day or less post debate, completely contradicting his immediate views no matter how emphatic they were. This time was most predictable of all.

Last night I was surprised by Scarborough, who is usually more competent. But at least Scarborough began to wilt after a while, even asking a GOP stooge what happens if Edwards is judged the winner and that means the Reps are 0-2 going into Friday. Minus his booster chair shove, Chris Matthews was totaly incapable of spitting out that question last night.
