Brand New Research on Cheney's Lies - Daily Kos
The good people on www.dailykos.com are doing a great job researching Cheney's lies on Edwards. Here's some excerpts:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/10/6/11163/2940

"Before 2004, Edwards missed just seven votes out of 1,307 in his first four years in office, Briggs said. During his five years in the Senate, Edwards voted 1,551 times out of 1,626 roll-call votes, Briggs said, or 95.4 percent."
---
"Cheney and Edwards met on several occasions already, and there is photographic evidence.

Cheney presided over the Senate on only 2 out of 126 Tuesdays

Cheney usually only meets with the Senate Republican caucus when he does show up on Tuesdays.

Edwards was present at each vote at which Cheney was asked to cast the tie-breaking vote."
----
Presiding officers of the Senate on Tuesdays - Other persons are appointed when the Vice-President doesn't show up:

5. Pat Leahy on Cheney's Senate Attendance
Pat Leahy was on Hardball last night following. Tweety asked him how could a senator have never met him if Cheney is there every Tuesday????? Leahy said Cheney does come to the hill on Tuesday's but DOESN'T MEET WITH ANY DEMOCRATS! He said Cheney arrives in a caravan of cars and then goes directly into a closed door meeting with Republicans. No Democrats are allowed.

9. here's a link

As Cheney takes on high profile, Democrats can’t seem to find him
By Noelle Straub and Mary Lynn F. Jones

As the Senate prepares to act on a resolution authorizing the use of force against Iraq, Republicans say Dick Cheney has assumed an increasingly visible role on Capitol Hill.

(snip)
However, Assistant Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said he hasn’t seen Cheney “in months.” Other Democrats, including Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Patty Murray (Wash.), Bill Nelson (Fla.) and Jean Carnahan (D-Mo.) also said they haven’t had much contact with Cheney since the Iraq issue began heating up earlier this year.

Asked why Cheney hasn’t reached out to Democrats, Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), a member of the Armed Services Committee, replied, “You’d have to ask him – if you can find him.”

6. So Edwards had a 95.4% attendance rate and Cheney--1.587301587%
Whoooooooops

You realize that (2) is one more appearance than meetings he chaired on terrorism pre-9/11

7. it's the usual mirror projection
Whatever the Republicans do that's bad, they claim their opponents do instead.

So, if Cheney blew off his job in the senate, then naturally he would accuse Edwards of doing it.

I'd love to see the photographic evidence of them meeting published all over the front pages. That would be sweet.
