Post-Debate Truth Squad on Paula Zahn Tonight ...
http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/paula.zahn.now/index.html
The night after the VP debate, how well does the rhetoric stand up to our truth squad? We put Cheney and Edwards to the test. Tune in at 8 p.m. ET.
-----------------------------
Let's make sure that Paul has all the facts, shall we?

paula.zahn@turner.com

The biggest whopper was in Cheney’s response to Edwards remark about “America has taken 90 percent of the coalition casualties.“:

Cheney: “Well, Gwen, the 90 percent figure is just dead wrong. When you include the Iraqi security forces that have suffered casualties, as well as the allies, they've taken almost 50 percent of the casualties in operations in Iraq, which leaves the U.S. with 50 percent, not 90 percent.

Truth: US casualties:1064
Other Coalition Countries: 138 .
Iraqis killed: 13,000 +

Indeed the Iraqis have suffered tremendous losses, but is just plain wrong and devious to include the Iraqis killed in the invasion in this context. Can you imagine what the world would say if Hitler had tried to claim (in his casualty count) the 6,000,000 German Jews Hitler exterminated?

2. I like the fact that Cheney has only presided over the Senate twice since
he became vice president, yet he was criticizing Edwards for never being there. Edwards even filled in for Cheney twice.

3. Seriously!? LoL Two questions...
1. What does that mean "presided over the Senate"? I thought he said he was in their "most Tuesdays". Forgive me, I'm TRULY a political newbie.

2. Edwards filled in for him twice? That's F*ing GREAT! :) Any links please? Thank you in advance. Can't WAIT for Kerry to DESTROY Bush again Friday night!!! :)

4. the repukes meet on tuesdays
cheney went to those meeting.

the VP almost NEVER presides, unless there is a tie vote to break.

Edwards, when the Dems were in control, presided twice. of course, now it's only repubs presiding.
