7. If I were you, I would also research Cheney comments on El Salvador

The radio/TV show Democracy Now with Amy Goodman had several guests on this morning who took apart Dick Cheney like a cheap suit. I found the discussion of his comments regarding El Salvador to be particularly interesting and important...far more important than whether he was ever photographed with John Edwards. Cheney said that he was sent as an observer to the elections in El Salvador during the 1980s and that 75,000 civilians were killed by terrorists who wanted to stop those elections. I think we need to hit back hard on his attempts to compare Central America during the Reagan years to Iraq and Afghanistan. Cheney apparently was neck deep in Iran Contra. The 75,000 figure is apparently a complete and total fiction and if any civilians were killed, it was done by right wing hit squads with the help of the CIA. His comparisons of Iraq to El Salvador, when the US was down there covertly manipulating elections and fighting against the will of the people is a comparison that should be completely turned against Cheney and this administration.

Unfortunately, the Democracy Now website has been down all morning as far as obtaining a transcript of the show is concerned, but their show on the radio/TV (Free Speech TV, channel 9415 on Dish Network) was extremely powerful this morning.
