Just think how devastating Edwards' win would have been if
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 02:53 PM by spooky3
he had gotten the "Town Hall" format.

People should remember that Kerry's camp bargained away the format that most favored Edwards to give Cheney the one he wanted, in order to give Kerry another shot at *.

I think Kerry will take full advantage of that bargained-for opportunity, but we need to give Edwards full credit for more than holding his own in Cheney's preferred format.

i would have loved to see how things would have been if they were standing.

but i do understand the pres candidate debates matter the most in the end and kerry really needed them so i understood the need to give into these things.

but Edwards gets lots of credit for not just holding his own but getting in some really good attacks. you can tell cheney was losing it emotionally.

2. heh he (evil snicker)
I wonder what they're thinkin' now?

I think it's SO amazing that they go to all this effort, negotiating positions, profiles, length of debate etc etc ad nauseum, when they've got a POS to polish? How utterly absurd.

On another thread, there's a photo of Bush speaking to a crowd, with a funny-looking lump on the back of his jacket. There seems to be a wire running over his shoulder under the jacket (?!)@)$??

It's so ridiculous!!!! How can they believe that a man whispering secrets to Bush, or getting just the right profile for Cheney will win??? Once again, David defeats Goliath.

3. I have a question:
Who thinks Bunnypants will reneg on debate #3 and cite Big Dawg as he runs like a little drunken bunny back to his hole in the ground?

4. At This Point, Debate #3 is His Only Hope
Bush could have cancelled all the debates and might have won the election, but after number one he's the one who's behind and needs a bounce.

5. the difference is Clinton never agreed to all debates and pulled out later
it was still in negotiation phase when he got out of it. he made a deal with dole that he would agree to excluding perot from the debates in exchange for only 2 debates and both in town hall style which is what clinton is best at. so of course clinton easily ended up winning both of those.
