The October Surprise is yet to come
And I don't think it will help Bush. I think it will be indictments in the Plame case and they may go all the way up to the top.

Who would vote for a president being tried for treason?

4. Those who have marinated in the Kool Aid
Will believe that Wilson deserved to have his wife outed 'cuz he were bein a traitor to Merka. How dare he question our Supreme Commander's imperial mandate from Jeezus. That's how I think they're going to view it.

3. Oh, about 40,000,000 people in this case
Recall that Nixon had about a 30% approval rating on the day of his resignation. If this guy was found to have plotted 9/11, you'd get 25% still voting for him because the only people who really died were "New Yorkers". And it's a blue state anyway,

This is how they think.

6. whoah... so cynical
Yet probably true. Unpleasant as it may be, there's probably an extant percentage in any human society which would happily support a fascist regime, should circumstances allow one to arise.

5. The Freepers would never believe it.
They'd claim he was set up (just like some people insisted Nixon was framed). Chimpo could eat babies on live TV and the Freepers would still love him... because he's not one o' them damn libruls.

9. Or maybe they love him because
...they actually believe barbecued baby goes great with freedom fries!

But in actual fact, they are the ones behaving like babies.

With any luck, they will stay home on election day. I sense a deflation in the enthusiasm of their base. I also get the distinct impression that a lot of the people who SAY they support weecowboy will just not make it to the polls if the weather is at all bad, or the traffic too great, or they have an ingrown hair.

They remind me of a small child who has a total blowout tantrum, one of those screaming in the supermarket, high decibel, red faced meltdowns. They've been ranting and hating for so long, now they are into the snuffling and sobbing mode, with occasional sharp howls. Hopefully they'll be passed out, tucked in their little cribs, on Nov 2.

Works for me!

7. Don't mean to be cynical, but...
...we've been hearing about possible indictments for months now, and I just don't see all this happening in the span of 3 weeks.

Unless, you've been hearing things I haven't??

8. Well, the source revealed himself to the prosecutor
a few weeks ago. How long would it take to investigate and process indictments?
